Vintage 1910s or 1920s, with art glass. I really like this. It's in a rental hall that a group I'm in rents. Unfortunately, you can see that there is a fluorescent fixture very near it.

This light fixture was in the house when I bought it. I don't know how old it is but I'm guessing it's pretty old. It has the neatest feature: turn the finial on the very bottom of the fixture and.... First turn - 2 lights come on... Second turn - 3 lights come on... Third turn - 5 lights!... Forth turn - all the lights go out. My mom found that little feature by mistake as she was re-wiring the fixture. Pretty nifty. I love it!
In between stripping 50 years of paint off doors, and creating a fire bowl out of a 55 gallon drum, Robert and I made this lamp set up to install on top of the radiator. I had two broken antique articulated lamps, and the wooden beam we salvaged a few months ago in north philly from a building that was being demolished.
Urban Steel suspends a steel shade on industrial rubber. Nearly indestructible, even from a direct hit. So rugged that it may be used out-of-doors as well!

In my new purple office. Gotta love it! Still have to get my custom bookshelves built, but it's almost ready to go. YAY!
This office is actually brightly lit, but taking this picture without the flash gives this overhead light an interesting shape and color.
For some reason ever since I've started taking more photos I've been drawn to light fixtures and the way they glow in photos. This ceiling fan in my parent's living room shows the difference between light and dark, on and off, while the two lights are part of the same fixture.
The extra-ordinary in the ordinary was my inspiration for today. Thank you DPS for posting this to Facebook today. This is fixture is probably the original from the early 50’s and I’ll miss it when I get around to renovating but it is ordinary and I do like how this shot turned out. It will help me remember. It does have an energy efficient CFL bulb. I put them in all my fixtures. They are so much brighter than the original CFL's.
Wrapping the tile all around the bathroom counter really makes this tiny bathroom look bigger.

Jon and I decided to lay ceramic tile in our kitchen and foyer. We thought this would be a weekend project but it's taking longer than anticipated. There is something to be said about doing this yourself and not paying someone to do it. We had fun but our bodies are sore. Just have to seal the grout and get the trim back up and I will have my kitchen back.
#LightFixtures - Many people feel that kitchens are the heart of the home where families gather and spend time with others. To get the most out of your kitchen design it well and designate areas for different activities taking place there. One of the most important accessories to blow these areas will be...
#LightFixtures - Changing traditional lamps (incandescent) to flourescent light fixtures is an effective and simple change that anyone could do. This change reduces the cost of electricity in homes and the emission of greenhouse gases. Lighting accounts for 20% of average energy costs of households. It is...
