Edited in PicMonkey with beJeweled as a new texture. Once as Hard Light and then again as Normal blending mode, and painted it in very, very softly with 24% of the brush, again and again and again and again, etc. Like the time lapsed qwikLoadr.

The photographer had asked to fix some burned out areas, where the flames had made the image almost white. This looked like a multiple exposure shot to me, which I love. The camera superimposes several shots on one image, great for light streaking!. Where the flames circled and repeated over themselves, they got double, or triple exposed...causing the burn out.
I used the lasso tool and selected portions of good flame. I scaled, distorted and arched these portions, and applied them on different layers, mostly at 100% opacity in the normal mode.

I thought this was a great shot. I used the lasso tool to select the water and added some blue and green to it. I also added a motion blur to the falls portion. I then selected portions of the trees and boosted the contrast a bunch, as well as the different rock portions. The heavy texture I think allows you to go beyond what you normally woould. I created and added some sky and clouds on a few different layers applying different lighting applications.

I really liked the shots very much and there were parts of both that were my favorite. I copied on onto the other and had the layer as a screen mode....this way I could see the two images together. They fit perfect! I was like..Wow, that's pretty cool.
So I duped each layer and applied a layer mask to each. I use the hide all option, and then paint on the mask with a white airbrush...this will reveal that portion of the layer only...just what you paint white.If you mess up, just go back and paint with black...the images comes back.
I added a stage to the background with some lights. I could have used the pen tool to select the portions of the two images, but the layer mask does a very good job on this, and is much easier. You could practice the pen tool as well. Thank you pippin828, for letting me work on your awesome photos.
