This totem featured paintings by NZ artist Fane Flaws, interactive programming by MULK (Chris Macmillan) and a standalone work called CUSP integrated for interaction.CUSP is designed by Doug Makinson.
CUSP is a turntable mounted with photosensitive disc that maps a laser-light's history of random movements created when audiences swing a double jointed arm.
CUSP had sensors added for this installation, triggering responses to the programmed lighting of totem. The movements were also captured with a webcam and relayed to x2 screens in the totem.
Please no group invites or large graphics ~ thanks!
