As a keen amateur I'm trying to improve my basic skills including lighting.

Here I used a single spot and opposing shadow board, underexposed against a black background.

I'd love some tips on improving these skills and this photo - enjoy.

Spring sunlight streams through the "skybridge" connecting the two towers of the building where I work. (Rectangles are taped-on silhouettes of hawks, intended to keep birds from attempting to fly straight through the glass. Sometimes they work).
