Another image captured during the COVID-19 lockdown (England, UK). The subject is a lily pad leaf existing in my back garden pond.

Created using: Topaz Labs, and Topaz Studio

A broad immersive view of a tranquil waterscape at sunrise featuring Luxor city skyline silhouetted against a colorful gradient sky. The water reflects the sky's hues and shows gentle ripples in the foreground.

The lighting is characterized by the warm, golden hues near the horizon transitioning to cooler blues and purples in the upper sky. The water reflects these colors, creating a vibrant and harmonious palette. The contrast between the illuminated sky and the silhouetted city adds visual interest.

Gentle ripples or waves are visible in the immediate foreground of the water, adding a sense of movement to the otherwise still scene and create a leading line, drawing the viewer's eye into the scene.

A strong horizontal composition, with the horizon line divide the frame into sky and water. The cityscape on the far bank provides a middle ground, adding depth and a sense of place.

The emphasis is on the tranquil atmosphere and the interplay of light and reflection.

The soft lighting and calm water evoke a sense of peace, tranquility, and perhaps a touch of nostalgia or wonder, characteristic of golden hour photography.

Tarua Beach is currently a potential tourist destination. The beauty of Tarua Island, which rises in the Bay of Bengal in Dhalchar Union under Dakshin Aicha Police Station of Bhola District, is truly eye-catching.

Nature's form is seen here in the play of light and darkness. You will also find a spectacular view of the Red Sun getting lost in the chest of the Red Sea by climbing the stairs in the evening sky. You will also be mesmerized by the incomparable sight of the whole beach being filled with redness.

"Light to illuminate the path"

A perspective of a hall supported by massive, ancient sandstone columns with broad bases. The columns are arranged in rows, creating a defined pathway leading towards a brightly lit doorway at the far end.

The image uses strong leading lines focusing on the architectural elements created by the rows of massive columns and the stone pathway on the floor. This symmetric composition draws the viewer's eye directly towards the bright, illuminated doorway at the end of the corridor, creating a sense of depth and a journey into the unknown. The columns frame the central vanishing point effectively.

The photograph exhibits high contrast lighting. The foreground and the sides of the hall are dimly lit, emphasizing the texture and wear of the ancient stone. The natural light pouring in from the distant doorway creates a stark silhouette effect and a sense of mystery and transition. A slight purple flare near the doorway adds a stylistic element to the light source.

The primary subjects are the large, weathered columns with visible, though faded, carvings and hieroglyphs. The ceiling is dark but shows remnants of painted decorations. The rough, uneven texture of the floor and columns provides a tactile quality to the image, highlighting the age and history of the structure.

The color palette is dominated by earthy tones of beige, brown, and grey from the sandstone, contrasted sharply with the bright white light of the exit and the dark shadows of the interior. The faded colors on the ceiling and columns offer subtle historical detail.

Taken from the interior of the Great Temple of Seti I, Abydos. A timeless ancient Egyptian legacy of devotion and architectural brilliance.

I went to the skating rink and the evening shadow was cast on the rink so I had great white blast of light and a dark shadow of cold ice. Light and Dark or Dark to Light just depends if you read left to right or right to left. Yes I took the most minimal thing there is but this was my first thought when I saw the theme.

-The Number 9 Coal Mine was opened in 1855 by the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company. It was the World’s Longest-Operating Coal Mine. The mine featured miles of tunnels and went as far as 800 feet below the surface. It produced a significant amount of anthracite coal from the Panther Valley’s Mammoth Vein in Carbon County, PA.

In 1972, the mine was officially closed. 1992, 20 years after closing for business, the Number 9 Coal Mine was opened for tours to those wanting to learn more about this industry that built Northeastern Pennsylvania. - (Source: Uncovering PA)

Thank you so much for visiting and comment!

I really appreciate it!

An absolutely perfect ending to New Year's First Day.

The grand finale was a surprise sunset encore, that brilliantly lit up the sky, (in a sailor's favorite colours), as it contrasted against the blue hour light.

Along with my all time favorite tug....'The Ku'ulakai', that was reflecting a slight rosy blush......the night could not have come to a prettier close.

Steveston is an ever so romantic fishing village that is situated in Richmond BC, on the Mighty Fraser River

Canada

The Ku'ulakai Tugboat c. 1944 ( center )

KU'ULAKAI Tugboat c. 1944

(Ku'ulakai meaning: Hawaiian Fishing God of Fisherman)

Her history: as per online sources: (Unverified)

Built:1944

Length: 111.9

Gross Tonnage: 301

Used as a Tugboat all along the West Coast of BC

Ku'ulakai is said to be the only intact Miki tug in Canadian waters.

Builder: Northeast Shipbuilding, Quincy Massachusetts, USA

According to onlines sources, this tug was built as a wooden Miki US Army Tug - LT465, and used by the U.S. navy during the Second World War to tow damaged ships from the Pacific back for repair.

Online information also reports that later on in life, she was used by drug runners in the South Pacific and that in 1988 was seized by the Canadian Coast Guard for smuggling drugs out of China.

She was originally named: Lloyd B. Gore, decommissioned & sold 1946.

Please note* All information has been taken from online sources and has not been verified to be accurate.

Definitely one of British Columbia's best kept secrets.
