The World Today did an "outside broadcast" from a virtual studio in Second Life, with the presenter as one Avatar and the Studio Manager as another (to be able to listen to the Presenter). guests were invited in and intreviewed - although the chat didn't work for some of them and we had to Skype them instead
What is Life ?
It is the flash of a firefly in the night.
It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime.
It is the little shadow which runs across the grass
and loses itself in the sunset.

It's not death I worry about
It's life that will bury us all
It's the frustration of finishing the day
In the exact same place you started it
If you are lucky
It's not sorrow It's getting hard to handle
It's being optimistic that grinds us to dust
With nothing to hope for you take it as it comes
And it only comes close to what you wish it will
If you are lucky
It's not the sound of noise that you really hate
It's the silence that comes and covers your soul
You can learn to live with noise; it's a sound of life
It's the sound of silence that makes you feel dead
If you are lucky
It's being surrounded by noise
Being sad and preferably dead
That I really wish for
If I'm lucky.
Sunrise through a bubble..
Mortal and Immortal, at one place..
Made me think and realise, one more day of my life is gone.. or rather one more day is here today to live to its fullest.. because I dont know, when the bubble is going to burst...
saw the sun through these leaves and thought I would try my diopters and the sun streaming through...
I like to relax sometimes with a few set up still life pictures .
This set-up was taken at home on the kitchen table with a black background cloth and a few lilies lit with a diffused anglepoise light.

His works is awesome Steve McCurry
Learning to use settings on my new camera, so figured I would start with still life. Slightly over exposed so all background definition and colour of the wall is lost and focus is kept on the fruit. Indirect window to the left allowed light to soak into the scene while giving warmth.
(Next time I'll remove the paper towels and bruised stuff. :) )
Still-life practice (& fun w/ polaroids).
Strobist Info : sunlight through venetian blinds, camera right
I know not the name of this butterfly. what I do know is that it was a delightful experience going through the life of a butterfly and taking these shots of the beauty from its various stages.
the guy at the butterfly park was very patient enough to show me the various forms, the pupa to the caterpillar stage to the final one here of this yellow spotted beauty tht it takes ..:-)
“the insect is drawn to this flower, its double, its soul mate, and wants nothing more than to make love to it. And after the insect flies off, spots another soul-mate flower and makes love to it, thus pollinating it. And neither the flower nor the insect will ever understand the significance of their lovemaking. I mean, how could they know that because of their little dance the world lives? But it does. By simply doing what they're designed to do, something large and magnificent happens. In this sense they show us how to live - how the only barometer you have is your heart. How, when you spot your flower, you can't let anything get in your way…”
it's from the movie..."Adaptation"... proposed by cnu
