Cartagena was founded in the 1500's as a major port to ship silver and other pillaged goods to Spain. It is one of the first cities established in South America and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984.
The Ciudad Vieja or Old City is filled with colorful old buildings many of them have gorgeous plants cascading from the balconies.
There are numbers and letters carved into this pine, and the light reflecting off the tree was perfect.
The Chivas (old buses) lining up for a parade during the Feria de las Flores (Flower Festival) in Medellin, Colombia...

The fjord in Djupavik, Iceland. We hung out, photographing the beautiful sunset across the fjord, during one of Iceland's gorgeous, hours-long sunset. One of the photographers, Suzanne, noted that the colors were finally started to fade. However, just ten minutes later, to our surprise, the colors began growing more intense again, and we quickly realized that we were now watching a very slow sunrise.

The Alumbrados de Navidad (Christmas Lights) are more than a big deal in Medellin, Colombia. The tradition goes back to 1955 when the public utilities companies consolidated and set up a modest display downtown. Over the years the installation has evolved in size and location. The month long event includes the light displays, roving performers, a craft show and food booths. I had too much fun the other night and plan to return soon....
I think the issue start at home. As you may notice, parents give their kids’ phone from an early age that did not overpass two years. Can you believe it! Much research proves that they could have negative effects in the future like « Concentration difficulty, Increased mental laziness, Difficult to make friends in real life,… »
ELECTRONIC SOUL.
Phones are now a day more sophisticated and developed that help every person to reach anyone anywhere at any moment, but the question remains: why the medium who gathers us disperses us? Are smartphones killing the planet faster than anyone expected? Is that logical?!
The world is progressing very fast in all fields, involving technology. The phone was developing so rapidly over the last few years. It became more closely embedded in our day-to-day lives than ever before, and I could describe the propagation of smartphones as plague, Speedy, and quiet. So I wanted to intervene in that by giving a voice to a subject that has had no voice.
When we’re looking at these images, we’re looking at how Chinese citizens are addicted to their phones, therefore I want from my project to enlighten this current issue, also the dangers that could generate from this issue like depression, loneliness, ...
If you told me back in 2000 what these devices would be capable of in around 20 years, I’d call you crazy, and I wouldn’t be alone. Back then, no one could have predicted the impact phones would have on our lives. It would have sounded like science fiction. This got me thinking: What will smartphones of the future change in our habitude as humans?

In The Glow Of The Long Setting Sun (2016-06-22 21:36)
Route 1, or Ring Road, has many scenes with fantastic beauty. When I saw how the sun was illuminating this mountain and the beautiful meadow of lupines, I immediately pulled over and set up my camera. The beautiful lighting went away, but I thought I would remain there, hopeful that the clouds would part and this would be cast in a beautiful, buttery glow again. The golden hour. And thankfully, that happened. Most of the time I was in Iceland, it was overcast. But at this moment, magic occurred. And when these moments occur, I want to give it a big giant hug and a kiss and savor it.
Throughout Iceland, there were many beautiful fields of lupine, whether here in the south part of Iceland or in the Westfjords. Being from California, this made me feel quite at home. Nikon D610/Nikkor 28-300mm. 1s f/8 ISO 100.
