The civic economy is focused on generating a holistic experience of place – creating places that tell stories about their purpose, often surprising and delighting users and helping to generate open conditions for people’s participation and collaboration.

I am pretending to be a
magician. I am holding a wand and using my magic to turn an ordinary glass cup into a crystal with magic powers. In drama I can be anything I want to be and do anything I want to do.
I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.

I thought I was getting a lesson, instead I got an ass-whopping. My friend asked if I wanted to learn some kung fu from his uncle, who is a master, and I said sure! I then mirrored his battle pose, expecting him to demonstrate some basic kicks and punches and what not. Instead my friend yelled, "GO! COME ON!" and I suddenly realized I was expected to fight this kung fu master. In panic I turned to the fighting style I know best: sumo. Yes, a few long-arms to the face and I had him off balance. Then he came back and thoroughly kicked my ass. Actually we were just playing and he mercifully only knocked me down once. It was all in good fun.

I recently went to the Fredericksburg National Cemetery, after I discovered that it was only a two minute walk from my house.
I had the perfect opportunity to go late last week when the weather was nice, to see if I could find any inspiration. I can confidently say that I am very impressed, and will definitely try to make trips back in the future.
Most of the graves, like the one above, were very understated, so they made me really think about how I wanted to capture them. It was a very good exercise in finding how I wanted to frame each shot, because finding a subject was a tad more difficult than usual. Of course, using a low f-stop always helps haha.
If any of you haven't been and want somewhere to take nice photos, I definitely recommend this spot :)
Thanks for taking a gander.
