The first of my pictures from the Big Cats photography day I attended yesterday at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation in Kent.
Not open to the public the WHF is a UK based charity working hard to ensure that the big cat species of the world are protected from extinction. Based in Kent UK they are an active partner in the European Endangered Species Breeding Programmes (EEP), as well as setting up education programmes for the people that share the habitats of these wonderful cats. The WHF is also raising awareness and funding for big cat projects around the world.
This is one of the four leopards they currently have living with them. I will be uploading more of my pictures shortly but this is a taster of whats to come.

This chap was showing an interest in the kids running about, not sure if it was curiosity or just lunch time :-)
Snow Leopard, pastel on velour, approx 16" x 16", original and limited edition prints now available.
Snow Leopard (Uncia uncia)
The snow leopard is classified as a member of the order Carnivora (Carnivores) and is a member of the family Felidae. It is classified as an endangered species due to an estimated population of no more than 2500 snow leopards and the fact that it has no subpopulation numbering more than 250 mature leopards. Snow leopards can be found in eastern Asia
The colour wasn't too good on this shot as it was a bit overcast, so I tried to make it look a bit smarter with B&W.
Didn't want to waste it because I liked the pose and it was looking right at me
This was taken at Twycross Zoo, though I don't know if they have the leopard anymore.
