Also the filming location for Lord of the Rings Dimholt Road, known as the 'Path of the Dead' by the Rohirrim. It is here in the Return of the King that Legolas tells the story about the Army of the dead.

So I finished my Legolas collage for my friend! I despise my phone's camera because it doesn't get all the details! But I'm giving it to her tomorrow so I'd love suggestions!!!!!! PLEASE!
So with the return of the walking dead on Monday, I wanted to revamp my rather outdated figure.
Rick is completely re-painted, using the legolas head for the face's base (credit to Shane who i believe used it first).
Head is based off his appearance in the final promo for the new season after ________ is lucilled and presumably their blood splatters/is wiped across his face.
Additonally I attempted to use some shading in his jacket and on the legs, having a base colour brown/black then adding white, red and lighter brown ontop.
Rick's Python revolver is an extended old-school lego pistol. I don't have any of the fancy moulded weapons, so tend to stick with modified lego parts, hence this is a little too chunky, but works nevertheless.
As always comments appreciated. Shoutout to Shane and Aaron for inspiring me to get back into Walking Dead figures.
Tomorrow Ill be posting a pair shot with Rick and Negan with an updated Lucille. Planning on adding some painted glue or whatever to give her a blood (and brain) soaked sticky mess.

At least Legolas was in a polybag though Bain has a hard plastic casing which probably meant that there was a different exterior case designed to possibly show the minifig.
One of my favourite scenes from the Lord of the Rings is the creepy tunnels in the undead city, so building in LEGO was a fun challenge. I used glowing pieces to capture the ghostly essences, and photographing it was almost as tough as building it. A fully lit version can be seen here.

A journey in the Dark begin for the Fellowship of the Ring, lead by Gandalf the grey. The gate of Durin is the Entrance of the great Dwarven city of Khazad-Dûm.The Fellowhip must follow the way which lead to the cavern of the Moria in the aim of escaping the ennemy. But, they don't know who live in the darkness of the Moria.
Head is Legola's/Lexcorp goon with a backwards respirator, helmet is pretty self explanatory. The body is that of a Hydra goon with plain green arms and legs

In other news...
Tolkien week is starting,
and the new Hobbit trailer will debut on the 19th of September... along with more new content.
Second attempt at this, a fairly old idea: Legolas fighting off two Orcs whilst Ravenhill crumbles around them. Still not happy with the arrangement, I'm thinking to try building a tower and then deconstruct it as it's disintegrating. At the moment it's not really clear what's going on, it's just a bunch of crap in the air :-)

Little scene inspired by the "Return of the King." It represents the last part of the Black Forest Dimholt where is the gateway to "The paths of the dead." The legend says that it is a labyrinthine place where Soldiers of Isildur, last King of Arnor and Gondor, could find refuge, who betrayed him and were astonished by her curse, they were halfway between life and death. Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli are forced to venture into the Paths to convince the Dead to fight alongside them.
