This set was released in 1972 and consists of 142 pieces. It was common with sets of this era to print white points on the base plate where you are supposed to put the bricks for the building. Here you can see two white dots next to the grey steps in front of the white door. First I thought I made a mistake, but I did some research and there seems to be a missprint here. When you put the steps on the white dots, they don't aligne with the door like they should.
On the right of the windmill there is supposed to be a tree. Mine was missing, so I replaced it with a bush of the same era.
"Uplink and I are a team. Between us there's nothing we can't do."
I've been meaning to revamp this old set for a while, so here it is! Bigger and sturdier than the original version, I wanted to keep the "cockpit" open while offering a bit more protection to the pilot, so I went with the cage over the top. I also made it "modular" so there are different attachment options to choose from depending on the mission.
Bring back Exo-Force!
This is a small part of an old LEGO "flags" folder/leaflet/brochure.
Note how Bayer and even Cellidor are mentioned.
It seems that if you look around, hints are everywhere:)
A sleek, beautiful vessel that has become a legend within the racing Viper community. Despite its advancing years, the Luctuosa can still outpace a lot of the competition.
But when your ship looks this good, not winning doesn't seem so bad.
-------------------------------------------
I recently decided to have a bit of a shuffle of my LEGO stuff that I've got "on display", which included taking this now-very-old MOC down to be donated to the shipyard. Before I break it up, I wanted to get some more up-to-date pics, as it's still one of my favourite ships I've ever built, and I wanted to do it justice and send it off in a blaze of glory. Long live the Vespa Luctuosa.

Taking a look at the Space Whale and Crab Mech! Set #75579
Check YT in my bio for a bunch more pics and some thoughts on this unique set.
I didn’t love the movies, but I can dig some of the LEGO sets that came from it!
I’ll be going through a few more Avatar sets soon

Just a quick MOC I made in celebration of the 118th Boston Marathon. As a runner, the tragic events on 2013 were heartbreaking, but watching the running community come together in the past year has been incredible. Good luck to all of the runners competing this year, and a huge thank you to all of the people who make this race possible. It's time to take the next step. We are Boston Strong!
1997’s Robo Stalker, another Mech from the strange RoboForce sub-theme!
I’m kind of a fan of the space robot goblin in striped pants, vaguely reminds me of a Beetlejuice getup? Idk, but I dig it.
This set has some seriously unique space elements and a few familiar. This set stands strong as a part’s pack, but it has enough originality to merit its own existence in any retro space collection
Good consoles for both drivers, great transparent orange elements, and even a cool sticker over the torso windshield
This set has all the prints and printed legs for the minifigs, super deluxe for ‘97
Each pilot of the orange faction of RoboForce shares the same face (previously used in Aquanauts’ sub-theme), which is an odd choice considering how many different elaborate prints were used in these sets
The detachable head/craft is good looking, with that large Exploriens’ element for a cockpit, adjustable wings, and two storage containers
More Retro Space LEGO sets to be featured soon..

A common sight along the corridors of lunar outposts everywhere, the Mus is a small, light, one-person transport that makes getting around your moon base much quicker and easier.
Its simple and sturdy design mean it is reliable and easy to repair, and it is affordable enough for every astronaut to have one!
The Mus can even be remotely operated, or programmed to run autonomously, as a delivery drone, transporting parts and packages.
Built for Febrovery '22!
1991’s Aerial Intruder from the Blacktron II fraction enters the LEGO City!
The ‘Big’ ship from a fan favorite (myself decidedly included) sub-theme is actually not all that big compared to the other Space sub-themes’ flagships. This ship checks the majority of my criteria for what made an excellent spaceship play set as a kid!
Great color scheme and cool large transparent elements?
Blacktron 2 has arguably the best + printed large windshield!
Detachable base with usable interior space?
The center of the ship is large when opened and has an aft storage compartment. While tight when loaded with cargo, great when side-builds are deployed
Dropship/Escape Pod?
Two of the best designed simple ships that deploy from the sides, that are also designed to be compatible with the rest of the sub-theme! So simple and genius
And a bonus jetpack element that is classic
Rover?
Two! Yes, super simple, but very standard for the time.
Action features?
The simple rover launch action definitely suffices.
Droid/Robot?
Not for this faction, but I believe that’s because they were outlaws. Correct me if I’m wrong?
Yes, I’m a really big fan of this old spaceship. Any detractors, like having 5 pilot-able options with only two minifigs can be understood with all their buddies they’d have to break from the Space Police II
This Absolute Classic brings me to the conclusion of my look back at some of my favorite LEGO from the ‘90s. I’m sure I’ll do more shoots with these sets in the future, but I’ve got a ton of contemporary sets to showcase for now and a large MOC in progress.
What did you think of this ship? Did you have it? Does it hold up today?

So there are two stories. the Making of first.
I might have dared Andrea to draw a ship for me and boy did she give me a doozy. Seriously..it was impossible. But come Shiptember, I was up for the challenge. This sucker is 150 studs long and just about 166 or so when transformed. I love me some Pneumatics, and technic engines. Its got lights, trains, air pumps and all that shippy goodness. Greebs to a T.. and a proud artist.
Its a Kris Blade, turned into a ship..
Next, the story of the Six Demons.
(After)life ain't easy for a skeleton, but the wizard is happy enough in his little hut on the hill. He's got his cauldron, he's got his frog, and he's far enough away from the nearest village that his experiments in technomancy (usually) don't affect anyone else.
Something a bit different for me; I don't usually do buildings, but I had the idea for this a while ago, and if I want to stand any chance of getting back into LEGO as a designer, then I need to push my boundaries and build outside my comfort zone. I think it came out not too bad, and it's certainly an improvement over previous attempts at minifig-scale buildings.
“Oh wow Rick, the Time Machine from the movie!”
“No Morty! This, this is ingenious! Thats not a time machine, it’s a LEGO kit. A LEGO kit that WASTES time! Now grab the wheel Morty, grandpa’s had too much to drink.”
What an excellent, satisfying build!
The action features work excellently, the details are on point and all three display options look great.
Awesome addition to the upscale cars. May have to do another shoot with this thing before it gets settled into a permanent display.

Rugged, reliable and, most importantly, very red. This little tractor is ideal for tackling all your ploughing and towing needs.
Blacktron II’s Allied Avenger (or Octopod) from 1991 enters the LEGO City!
LEGO’s best X-Wing pre-Star War license?
I’m a huge fan of Blacktron II’s use of octagon transparent neon green domes and detachable pods in their larger sets.
My younger self imagined the pods would be for atmospheric travel, with the back rockets intended for intergalactic travel/warp speed.
Pretty cool little spaceship, classic minifig with the old blockhead, and great neon pieces!
More 90’s LEGO to be showcased soon, including more of the space baddies - Blacktron II

You know summer has arrived on the island of Mata Nui when you hear the humming of this magnificent little Rahi. The Le-Wahi Bumbler is native to the Le-Wahi jungles, but has successfully spread around the rest of the island and can also be found on some of the smaller islets around the coast.
It is an important pollinator and part of the cycle of life on Mata Nui. Its large size and bright colours are a deterrent for most predators, but these critters are actually fairly docile, and can even make great companion Rahi with enough patience.

Here's a little build I've been playing with for a few weeks. It took a few passes, but I'm pleased with the end result. I need to try and work on blending System and constraction elements more.
Might not post anything for a while (not that I do very often anyway lol) after this. I didn't make it past the preliminary round for the Bio-Cup, which has got me pretty bummed out. I know there's the redemption rounds, but I don't know if I feel up to it. We'll see.
Part of my 2x4 slotted brick collection.
This part became to big for my normal frames, so I had to find a new way to store and display these.
I still need to add the rest of my slotted bricks, but these do not fit easilly over the studs anymore...
The number of different colors is amazing, remember, in the 50ties to the 70ties, LEGO largely consisted of only 6 colors!
(Blue, red, yellow, white, transparent and only later black)
Slotted bricks were made with loose granulate, much more was spilled.
These granulate (expensive) got sweeped up and was used to make B-quality bricks (marbled) and sold for less than the uni-colored bricks....
These are drawers with 48x48 baseplates cut to size.
1958 small box used to promote the new tube bricks.
These were send to toyshops.
Inside were two 2x4 bricks, either red and white or yellow and blue.
On here you can see the transparent bricks with orange tube.
These bricks were really made by LEGO!!!

Top line showing a few Wrexham bricks (Grangemouth).
A small collection of bricks that fit no where else in my collection so far.
Some strange letter and number combinations going on here.
I hope to find out one day what these combinations meen.

1997’s Robo Raider! Check out this old LEGO Mech from a space sub-theme that I hardly remember!
I was a huge fan of the Space theme through the entirety of the 90’s, and was probably collecting the most LEGO of my childhood around ‘97, but when I came across this sub-theme I have a blind spot.
Exploriens? for sure. Insectoids and UFO? I was all about it. Robo Raiders? Never heard of ‘em.
Enough of my potential forgetful-ness, check out this funky robot.
This whole theme had some pretty rad prints, awesome neon transparent elements, and really cool mini-figs!
More RoboForce and older Space sets to be featured soon!

An alternate build of set #77941 Mighty Dinosaurs (Blue), inspired by the old Prehistoric Power Creator set which featured a Triceratops and a Mammoth.
This is a fun little build, with plenty of flexibility and expression. I guess this is probably more like the kind of thing I should do if I ever want to get back to LEGO!
