The Heron in the lead made the mistake of landing in a wide open area without knowing it was already the territory of the Heron in the rear, who arrived minutes later. The chase was back and forth for about 30 seconds before the first bird gave up and left. View large.

starting very early in darkness from the trailhead along the Left Fork of North Creek (part of Zion NP) with headlights to my destination, the "Subway", i reached after 3 hours this picturesque location.

The other young cows went back to the farm for the night but this one got left behind. The farmer did notice he was one missing and came back for her ten minutes later. He had no difficulty finding her, by then she was making a terrible noise :-)
