Riding through the fleets of Amsterdam is a Must.

We enjoyed the late evening sun and the typical houses.

Es ist ein Muß, durch die Grachten von Amsterdam zu fahren.

Wir erfeuten uns daran bei später Abendsonne unter blauem Himmel.

Heel gezellig!

Free roaming sheep keep the grass in the hamlet of Spaunton cut short but they do leave an unwanted calling card.

Spaunton is a hamlet in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England.

The name Spaunton derives from Old Norse and means a farmstead or settlement which had shingle roofs.

Spaunton is still the setting for a Court Leet. The court meets annually in October an decides on matters of encroachment onto the common land in the village and hands down fines to offenders

With not much knowledge of what was running and getting some ;ast chance pics of the PRR signals, we pulled up to LEETS just in time. Not 10 minutes later the CNJ pulled out of Conway in perfect conditions.

With a pure EMD lash-up, NS 38Q, with SD60I #6740, rumbles under the endangered PPL signal bridge at CP-LEETS in Leetsdale, PA just after traversing a crossover. Contractors started putting replacments up at numerous locations such as CP-PITT, BLOOM, and Solomon on this day. Seen here at CP-LEETS to the right behind the tree, is the start to the new, silver cantilever.

Leetsdale, Pennsylvania

Above Ope Beach on the eastern coast of Portland Dorset.

In 789 AD, the first recorded Viking attack within British Isles, including Ireland, occurred on Portland's coast. It is believed that Church Ope Cove was the location. The exposed location was later defended by the Norman 12th-century Rufus Castle, built on the cliff-top overlooking the beach. The remaining castle seen today dates from the late 15th century. The cove's area was also used for the building of Portland's first parish church, St Andrews Church, which was probably first established above the cove by the Saxons.

Between 1797 and 1800, John Penn, Governor of Portland and grandson of William Penn, the founder of Pennsylvania, had the Gothic revival mansion Pennsylvania Castle built on a platform above the cove. During the early 19th century he had a bath built below the gardens of his castle, known as John Penn's Bath. However, when it was completed, the Court Leet demanded an annual rent for its use after it was built on Common Land. Penn refused to pay, and the bath was abandoned, with the remains still in existence today. Penn's servants would have been tasked with bringing water up from the cove to the bath.

The four east-most beach huts on the beach at Church Ope Cove.

Portland had a large history of smuggling, and Church Ope Cove was one of the famous smuggling beaches. Into the 20th century, fishing was still an industry that used the beach for the launching of boats. For decades, an old rusting hand winch has been left lying on the beach, and is a reminder of the fishing trade. As part of the anti-invasion measures during World War II, two pillboxes were constructed to look over Church Ope Cove. A minefield was also placed at the back of the cove.

These leets allowed for the transport of highly explosive materials in the making of gunpowder and cotton and the final product reducing the risk of sparks and static ignition.....

Primero de primaria - colegio: locas cabecitas.

Part of the old gunpowder industry, leets were used to transport raw materials, gun-cotton and gunpowder around the site as a form of non-sparking transport system

15mm cast glass button, the detail is in high relief, approximately 200 years old.

(iridescence) caused by alkali (soluble salt) being leached from the glass by slightly acidic water and then forming fine layers that eventually separate slightly or flake off causing a prism effect on light bouncing off and passing through the surface which reflects light differently, resulting in an iridescent appearance.

Four lights @90 degree intervals, sitting on a mirror.

White balance was set to incandescent which has given the button a blue cast, purely for the effect.

found in a leet ditch that dated from the late Georgian period (early C19th)
