The LED displayed regarding the Singapore Book Fair at Suntec Singapore Halls 401 and 402 Fair from 10 - 16 June 2014.
Welcome to this demonstration of Lothian's new LED digital destination screens and Chris Cuthill and I are at the Muirhouse terminus here, near to Silverknowes in Edinburgh. I'm grateful to Chris for giving me the opportunity to take some photographs of the varying screens on Gemini B9, number 846 - Lothian's first full frontal digital screen for many years and what, this time, might become standard in the fullness of time.
Several experiments were made in the 1970's through to the 1990's but none were taken to a second stage and all attempts were subsequently abandoned. Today, with the general move to digital screens all round the UK and on the Continent it would seem this time we might be saying farewell to our roller blinds.
Here's a screen display for Service 26 bound for Prestonpans. Taking this and the next photograph as a pair (see below and enlarge) let's look at the intermediate or via display which shows Murrayfield - Princes Street - Portobello. Nothing untoward about the locations but with roller blinds when this bus turns at Prestonpans to return through town and back to Clerwood again the intermediate screen would still say Murrayfield - Princes Street - Portobello, despite the fact that the bus is going the other way! On the new digital screen such information can be changed at the touch of a button and as you'll see in the next picture the intermediate reads Portobello - Princes Street - Murrayfield, with the bus heading in the right direction towards Clerwood.
To do this in the olden days would have surely required a huge roll of linen blind on every bus!

Der Mobil Show Video Truck T24 ist einer der modernsten Stage Trucks Europas und hat mit seinem 24m² LED Screen eine höchauflösende outdoor Video Wall.
Der T24 ist der Inbegriff des modernen Stage Trucks. Nur sehr wenige mobile Screen Trucks bieten die Vorzüge dieses in Europa einmaligen Video Trucks. Nicht umsonst ist der T24 das ganze Jahr über für die renommiertesten Sportveranstaltungen und Roadshows unterwegs.
Der Stage Truck wird als Container vom LKW abgesetzt und kann aufgrund seiner Hydraulikstempel auch in unebenem Gelände optimal positioniert werden.
Alle Elemente dieses Trucks werden über die Fernbedienung in entsprechende Position gebracht und eingerichtet. Hinter dem ausfahrbaren Ausschub verbirgt sich ein großzügiger Innenraum, der als klimatisierter Regie- und Backstageraum keinerlei Wünsche offen lässt und über verdunkelte Schiebetüren direkt auf die beliebig erweiterbare Bühne führt.
Herzstück dieses Stage Trucks bildet der 24m² große LED Screen, der aufgrund seiner SMD Architektur wahrscheinlich zu den schönsten Video Walls Europas zählt.

In a frisky yellow this looks good and I like the way the intermediate screen lines up with the route number. Perhaps a little 'black' between the end of the yellow and the number might be better but these are trials and experimental stages for what will probably look a little different later on.
LED means Light Emitting Diodes: a digital running-light displayer. LED's have been growing in use since the 1960's and are now a part of our lives in almost every situation we find ourselves in. Large area LED displays are used as stadium displays and as decorative displays. Thin, lightweight message displays are used at airports and railway stations, and as destination screens for trains, buses, trams, and ferries. They are cheap to purchase, long-lasting and completely durable. Gradually our traffic lights are converting to LED and a one-colour light is well suited for these and signals, exit signs, emergency vehicle lighting and Christmas decor lights.

Old work, still have to finish my Azores-set and right now I`m too busy to shoot anyway...
But I did manage to buy a new monitor (Iiyama Prolite 2775HDS). A very nice MVA LEDscreen with 24bit colors and a truely amazing static contrast. This is the first picture PP on this particulair screen so if the colors are off please let me know :)
