Maira Kalman spoke at ADC tonight and I fell for her- hard.
She spoke of her research on Lincoln, The Elements of Style, the color lists she creates from reading Madme Bovary, and of a letter Proust sent to a woman:
"My dear Madam, I just noticed that i forgot my cane at your house yesterday; please be good enough to give it to the bearer of this letter. P.S. Kindly pardon me for disturbing you; I just found my cane."

I'll be giving one of my night photography presentations at the SF City College on Monday October 20th.
Located at 50 Phelan Avenue. It starts at 6:30 and will run until about 8 in the Rosenberg Library, Building A-305. I'll be doing a projected laptop slideshow and a talk about night shooting techniques, light painting, abandoned locations and whatever else you want to talk about. Expect it to be casual and goofy. This presentation is open to the public, so all you SF Lost American flickrites, come on by and say hello!
