Miss Lili on the Schwinn Slik Chick!
Uh-oh. This bike is in my garage pouting because it didn't get to go home with Lili.
I told it to be patient.
The ONLY POSSIBLE REASON I can think of for why Lili didn't want to ride off into the sunset with this sweet purple beast (black and silver sparkly banana seat and purple sparkle grips and freshly-polished chrome fenders!?!!!!) is that SHE DIDN'T REALIZE JUST HOW ABSOLUTELY CRAZYCUTE SHE LOOKS ON IT!
My Peach-Faced Lovebird, "Cutie-Pie" decided it's time he learned to ride a bike! LoL! He's surrounded by Dragon Begonia blossoms.
that was the name of my bike. I believe this was the day I learned how to ride without training wheels. it was in my super-priss phase, as evidenced by the fact that I wore a dress to learn to ride a bike.
If you look at the ground instead of looking up, you'll lose your balance and crash.
It's been a while since Danbo's been out to play. He's realized that it's safer to stay in the camera bag than to be discovered by the precocious 2-yr old in the house : )
HTITFT!
With no shoes on she attempted to master her bike riding skills. With a little help from training wheels.
Just as we started to get tired and fed up of learning to ride it started to rain so we took shelter and found this message written on the wall.

he really figured out pedaling today, to the point where he can ride around in circles in the driveway unassisted.

Been rolling in dirt, pocket full of bugs, shoe's untied, helmet's loose, arm's scratched, and he's got a little bit of a shiner under his eye.
He's probably on his way to doing a sweet jump over one of the dogs, but in the end...he'll be just fine.
Spent the day with the kids, and finally taught Jonathan how to ride his bike. The training wheels are now gone! It's hard to describe the feeling of personal accomplishment that he was radiating! One ecstatic son and one proud daddy.

There's learning to crawl, to walk, learning to speak, to write, to read...and then learning to ride a bike!!!

rephil learned to ride a bike. i sort of taught him. i got all misty-eyed as
we rode around the park, thinking "what fun he'll have now that he has the
skills."
Liam demonstrates the "stomp" approach to starting. He gets the right pedal to about one o'clock and stomps down on it. The momentum is enough to get him going so he can hop onto the saddle (I love that he calls it that!) and push down on the left pedal when it too gets to one o'clock.
Miles and I went out this evening to buy bicycles. I wanted to get me one to commute to work on. And Miles has never really had a bike before. When we lived in Issaquah we lived on a hill and it wasn't really conducive to learning how to ride a bike. Miles had a scooter and so he just scooted around on that.
After buying him a bike we went over to Chao Yang Park across from our apartment complex (which you can see to the left of Miles) and he learned how to ride. He learned very quickly, though I think it will be a while before I dare venture out on the streets of Beijing with him.
----------
After refusing to allow me let go of the bike, only an hour before, Liam turned to Dave, who was now pushing him and said, "let go of me Uncle Dave."
And off he rode. My boy is a two-wheeler now, and he's not looking back.
Thanks Uncle Dave!
We took Tabby's training wheels off (it was like she was riding a quadri-cycle) and gave it a go tonight. She did it! Was super excited and proud of herself and so happy.
