Taking a leap of faith.

It took a couple of days of waiting in the rain to get this. I'd previously seen a few individuals making jumps in the forest and wanted to get the fiery autumn colours of the larch trees behind the action. This little ninja made me quite happy when he provided.

Young people like to take chances.

this guy was looking for crazy places to jump. I think it's the street dance and jump craze that's been going on.

I was expecting him to break a leg or something terrible as he was jumping from a good height and the distance for one spot to the other was quite far.

He made it.

there were also his buddies doing the same thing and video taping the event.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself. And spiders. (My son told me that this morning.)

When Marqs and Nene got the eviction notice, it wasn’t for loud parties or overdue rent. No, their landlord had simply “had enough of interpretive shadow puppetry at 2 a.m.” - which frankly, felt like censorship of the arts.

So, with two cats, two suitcases, and one broken air fryer, they did what any rational pair of creatives would do: they dragged a couple of shipping boxes to the hallway and invented the art of box dancing.

Marqs was all about the drama - bouncing in the “Assembly Required” box like a phoenix rising from IKEA instructions. Nene brought the grace - pirouetting in a “BROKEN HEART” box while holding her arms in classic ballerina poses.

Passersby were confused. Then curious. Then completely enthralled. By the end of the week, they had a tip jar labeled “Adopt-a-Boxer” and a group of middle-aged joggers who came every morning just to cheer them on.

One woman whispered, “It’s like...a ballet, but if ballet was emotionally damaged and full of packing tape.”

Eventually, a local bakery hired them to perform at croissant launches. The cats got signed to a niche influencer brand specializing in sardine-scented throw pillows. Marqs and Nene? Nationally syndicated on “Dance Your Cardboard Off.”

And somewhere in the cluttered annals of municipal housing records, their landlord still wonders what became of the odd little duo from apartment 4B.

(Answer: They transcended. In corrugation we trust.)

large view on black

one of my favorites from lenzi's senior portrait sesson today

this shot required the convergence of three elements :

a beautiful, agile dancer

a luminous sunset

and a fast camera lens...

we were fortunate to have all three :)

Getting a little crazy with some flammable material and some burning steel just after sunset at Beaumaris beach.

Just for the record, this did have a stand in real life, it isn't defying gravity ;-)

Dance, for FlickrFriday.

This week's theme is Colour Accent or "selective colour". We went Coasteering yesterday. This was one of the bigger cliffs we all jumped off. Nearly 40ft and it needed a run up to clear the edge safely!

Yesterday I spent some time bug hunting.... I'm sure no-one thought a woman on the footpath in the middle of a village was nuts photographing caterpillars!!! lol

These beautiful nasturtiums were being eaten at an awful rate by the Cabbage White caterpillars lol

I watched them for ages and sometimes they didn't even know what leaf they were going to grab hold of next, but still made a sort of dive for one anyway...

Again, God's creation brought my salvation to mind.... I stepped out of the world in complete faith in Christ, that He would save me and continually hold me up. We couldn't keep our salvation for a minute if left to ourselves, but God is all powerful, all knowing and all present and nothing is impossible to Him. Matthew chapter 9 verse 26 - Jesus Himself said, "with men, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible."

I'm so glad He loved me enough to send His only Son into the world, to die on a cross for my sins, and to RISE again from the dead, triumphant over evil.

Trust God if you need help today, He will strengthen you to take whatever leap you need to in faith :)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone, and thank you for stopping by :)

Testing the waters isn’t just about decisions—it’s about understanding what feels right. It’s the moment when uncertainty begins to clear, revealing whether a path excites, soothes, or unsettles.

In relationships, it means recognizing whether a connection truly aligns with your emotions. Do you feel safe, seen, and understood? Or is something holding you back? That quiet tug—whether pulling you closer or urging you away—speaks volumes.

Clarity doesn’t always arrive with certainty—it often comes in whispers, nudges, and quiet revelations. But when you truly listen, it tells you everything.

New addition!! I’ve been having fun with the Canon 20D but when I found a 50D body that was cheap but wouldn’t turn on, figured it was worth a shot.

Hooked up the grip from the 20D that was charged up, still nothing.

Tested another CF card and it came alive!!

Reformatted the one it had, works like new!

Now to eventually find a canon lens 😂

I only have the two lensbaby lenses and the Olympus adapter (only good within so many feet).

Debating on letting the Lensbaby composer go so I can find a prime lens.
