The Leaf Scorpionfish (Taenianotus triacanthus) has a very compressed body and a sail-like dorsal fin. It has a variably developed 'beard' of fine appendages around the mouth. The colouration of the Leaf Scorpionfish is variable, ranging from white, through pinks and reds to green. Mabini, South Luzon, Philippines

Thanks for the Explore! Though there is some sort of glitch because I uploaded this yesterday (22nd) and it was Explored on 21st (!?)

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;

Lengthen night and shorten day;

Every leaf speaks bliss to me

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow

Blossom where the rose should grow;

I shall sing when night’s decay

Ushers in a drearier day.

A single red maple leaf, 🍁 fallen on the worn bench, rests like a silent flame, whispering the grace of autumn and the gentle surrender of fall. From my archive of autumn 2024.

On/Off - Thank you very much for your visit and taking the time to comment or fave! Much appreciated!

This plant, I don't know the name, I found it interesting because of the thorns that are stuck in the leaf, I had never seen it!

Deep in the woods an autumnal leaf (Red Maple; Acer rubrum) absorbs the sun's rays for the last time.........

The photo was taken while the leaf was still attached to the tree; the lens flare was caused by shooting into the light.

The rink is up and going skates are being rented, fun on the ice, that means 2021 is almost history, Leaf on Ice for a negative frame for Crazy Tuesday.

This sycamore leaf at Big Sur is about 10 inches across. Since winter comes late to the Central California coast, we saw many leaves on trees and fluttering gently to the ground, in addition to deep piles of those already fallen. I especially liked the light and shadow on the leaves and rocks by the trail to the Big Sur River Gorge.

Happy Wednesday! Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all. Take care and stay safe!

Wikipedia: The dusky leaf monkey, spectacled langur, or spectacled leaf monkey (Trachypithecus obscurus) is a species of primate in the family Cercopithecidae. It is found in peninsular Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand; however, dusky leaf monkeys have occasionally been observed in Singapore. It is not clear whether these monkeys are escaped pets or whether they swam to Singapore on their own volition from Johor, Malaysia.
