This is part of my Conservative candidate's election leaflet which is headed "Think Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister is never going to happen - don't be too sure".
I somehow think that in using these examples of unexpected victories he has shot himself in the foot!
Is he saying that all these wins are a disaster or is he saying that just the final one is a problem?
I love the allusion to the fact that the Brexit will lead to higher debt, taxes and lead to chaos.
I don't think he's on message with this one!

I don't know whether they were delivered together, but I enjoyed finding them together on the mat :-)

Page from the Health Services Handbook published by the Borough of Keighley in 1961. The booklet contained details of health services available in the town plus many adverts for local businesses. The 32-page booklet measures 139mm by 215mm.
This page features adverts for Taylor's Shoe Shop of Cavendish Street (with its Pedoscope - the x-ray shoe-fitting machine), and for Keighley Health Stores on Bow Street.
The booklet belonged to Marion Waddington of Victoria Road, and was donated to Keighley and District Local History Society by her daughter Glenis Hey in May 2022.
I guess that the Liberal Democrats must have had our area down as a major target. If the result was to be determined by sheer effort then they should have cleaned up, we had leaflets, posters in the road, personally addressed letters and even something that looked like a handwritten note (it wasn't).
WIth hindsight, I am surprised that all the pre-match hype didn't translate to more seats, or is that because of the voting system?? Maybe they have a point considering they got 23% of the vote and less than 10% of the seats!
