Alston is a town in Westmorland and Furness, Cumbria, England, within the civil parish of Alston Moor. It is located at about 1,000 feet above sea level in the North Pennines, the River South Tyne, and shares the title of 'highest market town in England', with Buxton, Derbyshire. Despite its relative isolation, the town has road connections to the Tyne Gap to the north, Weardale and Teesdale to the south-east, and Penrith to the south-west.
Much of the town centre is a designated conservation area which includes several listed buildings. It was historically within the county of Cumberland.
Alston was historically a centre for mining, with lead, zinc, iron, copper, and coal found in the vicinity.

Keine Sonne belebte ihn.
Ein unerklärliches, vernünftiges Licht erhellte
die endlose Ebene.
Wie künstlich aus einer anderen Sphäre
projiziert,
Licht ausstrahlte.

A trio of tarnished Armour yellow GEs lead a southbound grain train into the North Yard Limits at Ottumwa. A three-mile CTC island runs from here, across the Des Moines River twice, through the BNSF diamond, and up the famed Rutledge Hill (1.6% grade). Five searchlight signals still stand, but for how much longer is anyone's guess...
Conrail Shared Assets train BA-3 shoves two boxcars down the Pier 18 Lead destined for Daily News in Liberty State Park. This job was normally serviced by the BA-27 at night, but with the 27 handling Global Container Terminal traffic now it seems that the BA-3 is the job that comes down here now. This lead is one of two tracks left in Liberty State Park (the other being the Philips Street Indsutrial) and the only one of the two that still sees service regularly.
4 BNSF units lead a long priority intermodal around the Corva horseshoe curve. A thunderstorm moves in from the south making sunlight slim. We got pretty lucky here as a gap in the clouds alloowed for some sunshine before the storm clouds moved in.
A little further up Shale Creek, we could now hear the waterfall but not quite see. That moment that is universally special and sacred to waterfall enthusiasts. I had never seen anything like those celestial light shafts and will probably never see anything like them again. It was so great to share that experience with Joe and Alicia (wnywaterfallers)!

The Vennerbrunnen (Banner Carrier or Vexillum Fountain) is located in front of the old city hall or Rathaus. The Venner was military-political title in medieval Switzerland. He was responsible for peace and protection in a section of a city and then to lead troops from that section in battle. In Bern the Venner was a very powerful position and was key in city's operations. Each Venner was connected to a guild and chosen from the guild. Venner was one of only two positions from which the Schultheiß or Lord Mayor was chosen. The statue, built in 1542 shows a Venner in full armor with his banner.
The Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive followed the lead of West Yorkshire PTE in funding low-cost Pacer units for local services, receiving the first batch of 14 wide-bodied BREL-Leyland Class 142s. Additional 142s were built for Regional Railways, supplemented by Alexander-bodied Class 143s and 144s with Barclay and BREL underframes respectively. This fictional image (based on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway’s preserved Class 144) supposes that GMPTE required additional units, which only BREL-Alexander could supply within the required timescale (19-Feb-23).

And now here's a better look at Collin's awesome work. When Billy and I were making Linda's Rifle, I wanted to give her something to sorta contrast this. She would have a long-range, super-powerful semi auto cannon, while J gets a fast crowd-controlling bullet firehose. Her rifle was also designed to look more refined and sophisticated (as sophisticated as a 7-foot long murdercannon can be anyway) compared to the brutal and dirty-looking minigun. As for what this thing has going for it I'd say it's not that different from real-life miniguns besides the man-portability and obviously lightweight. Probably fires some armor-piecing rounds a bit bigger than what would be found in your standard-issue ARs, 2500 RPM, the works. The main thing I wanted done with this when I sent it to Collin was a proper ammo box since I could never get it right on my own. I also know a man-portable minigun is seriously unrealistic, but fuck realism. Nothing but a killjoy. Also, while the minigun is all Collin's work with some of my input, the helmet was a gift from cmorgenweck (though I whipped up that damaged visor myself)

A lead, left at the right angle of the fence that stops you walking straight into the river instead of using the bridge.
Despite the numerous assurances that they are open and have gas, the 24 hour pumps in Leador appear to be abandoned. However, they are not. The signage is correct, though you really have to be on the look out for gas pumps to find them.
They're sort of around the side.

Lead has been used in many Indian and African traditional remedies for centuries with varying degrees of success and failure.
Most pencils now contain no lead but it is etched in British culture. Thanks for viewing.
Columbus & Greenville Railway Job 3 works in Columbus, MS. with 3 SD40-2’s in charge, with the lead 3312 still in Union Pacific Railroad paint, this is one case where I’d rather see the 3312 repainted into the Genesee & Wyoming Orange, Black & Yellow paint scheme, the old Union Pacific Railroad paint looks horrible.

Seaboard Coast Line dispatched two GE U18B locomotives to lead the Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus Train southbound from Clearwater to Saint Petersburg, Florida, 1-6-1975, Fred Clark, Jr. The SCL is using the old SAL route to Saint Petersburg to position the train in a more convenient location. Do believe this road is South Fort Harrison in Clearwater. If this location is where I believe it is, then further up on the right is a golf course.

Boise City, Oklahoma got lemons and made them into a minor roadside attraction.
Boise City: A Small Town in Oklahoma that has an Explosive Claim to Fame.
It all began on July 5, 1943. At the other end of the world, the United States was involved in a bitter war against the Axis forces. The citizens of Boise City followed the news closely,
Meanwhile, pilots at Dalhart Army Air Base in Texas were preparing four B-17 bombers for a practice run. The nighttime training mission was to begin a few hours after dark. The navigator was supposed to lead the flight group from Dalhart base to drop bombs in a range near Conlen, Texas. The target was a small square area, lit by four lights at each corner. It was supposed to be a simple mission, but somehow, something went horribly wrong.
Thirty miles to the north, most of the 1,200 residents of Boise City had already gone to bed. Most of the lights of the small town had been shut off, with an exception of the lights that surrounded the courthouse square. The small city seemed deserted, except for a small café and a few young couples walking home after leaving the local movie theater.
It was just after midnight when all hell broke loose in this sleepy little town. The explosions weren’t particularly loud, but they were loud enough to wake most, if not all, of the 1,200 people in Boise City.
The air raid continued for thirty long minutes as the townspeople rushed for cover. The first bomb thundered through the roof of a garage and exploded, digging a four-foot deep hole in the floor. The B-17 made another pass and dropped a second bomb that struck the white framed Baptist church, exploding beside the building and breaking out several windows. The crater was three feet deep.
