Found this wee gem of a spot whilst making our way through the Leadhills towards Wanlockhead 24/06/16
This, as the title says, was the lead pack. The guy in the middle, 28, is Devon Kershaw, from Canada. He ended up placing 5th, 1.6 seconds behind the gold medalist. He was clearly very upset, but this is an amazing finish for the Canadian Team. We are never expected to do well in these events. However, 5 years ago our government started the "Own the Podium" program. They pumped money into sports, and just look what it has done. 14 Gold medals! The most ever at the Winter Olympics. I would say that is OWNING THE PODIUM!

These are .22 Cal pellets for my pellet rifle, which is another hobby of mine that got too expensive. Pointed pellets like these are used for hunting small game animals like rabbits, squirrels, pigeons, and sometimes raccoons! Of course I've never tried hunting small game animals and have only shot targets but they could be very fun!

Australian entertainers in conjunction with Forces Entertainment travelled to Solomon Islands during February 22-25, 2013 to entertain soldiers deployed as part of the Australian Defence Force contribution to the Australian-led Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI).
The tour featured Australian colonial rock band Simply Bushed, Angry Anderson and Lucy Desoto.
This lead bullet (I'm assuming it's a bullet and not a form of weight or fishing line sinker), came from a rubbish dump just outside of Kendal, exposed after flooding caused by Storm Desmond. The bullet is hollow with a waisted interior to act as a stop for the cartridge case. Two small rectangular rebates can be seen on the outside edge at the bottom, (one facing in this picture). I assume these are what are called stake crimps, for securing the cartridge to the bullet. The nose is holed, having a rectangular slot 5mm x 1mm. Overall dimensions are: 25mm. tall x 12mm. dia. W. 12g. 20th century?
If anyone can come up with a positive identification of the type of ammunition this is, the type of weapon it was used in and the date range, it would be most helpful.
