* This shot would I think defy any straightening software. Both The Two Towers are leaning very significantly. At the heart of the city they are the symbol of Bologna. They are located at the intersection of the roads that lead to the five gates of the old ring wall (mura dei torresotti). The taller one is called the Asinelli while the smaller but more leaning tower is called the Garisenda. Their names derive from the families, which are traditionally credited for their construction between 1109 and 1119. Their construction was a competition between the two families to show which was the more powerful family.
The Asinelli tower rises 318 feet (97 metres) and slopes seven feet to the West. The smaller tower Garisenda once rose to 197 feet but it had 39 feet lopped off the height in the mid fourteenth century for safety reasons. Garisenda leans full 11 feet to the North East. It is possible to climb the 425 steps to the top of the Asinelli Tower but I did not risk my knees
It hard to imagine but Dante knew these towers well and are cited several times by in the Divine Comedy
Considering their size they proved rather difficult to photograph and this is probably the best of the many shots I took of them

Three straight SD45s lead an eastbound out of tunnel 25 and into tunnel 26 beneath the westbound track near Applegate in the spring of 1981. There is a lot of interesting topography here with short tunnels in abundance.

Individually hand cast lead on coloured concrete.
The concrete was surprisingly velvety when coloured and it is something I hope to enlarge.

Tippler house for lead/zinc ore being tipped for grading and moving to the loading bunkers at Wallah Gorge in north-east Myanmar. The ore from the deep mine at Bawdwin is brought out along the adit level to Tiger Camp and then through another tunnel to the bunkers here where it can be transferred to the Burma Mines Railway for transporting to the smelter at Namtu. The timber and corrugated iron architecture is typical of the Burma mines.

My grandson is leading the way for the rest of the family on an Easter weekend hike on the Bruce Trail.
...can lead to past memories...and sometimes sadness...or maybe that was because I watched the last half hour of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"!!! That movie and/or play kills me every time!

Print on fomatone 131 dev in moersch eco dev. Shot on Toyo monorail , 90mm schneider + orange filter. Rollei ir400 dev in HC110 (E dilution) 15 minutes. Out on the hills for the first time in weeks, a sunny day but blowing a gale , not ideal for shooting with a monorail camera.(16+beautiful yorkshire)

Tall Ship Leaded Leader was built in 1892 for William Robbens by the yard of A W Gibbs at Galmpton Creek on the River Dart, just two miles across the hill from Brixham. She cost him £1,100
A few weeks after leaving the Dart on her maiden voyage Leader put to sea on her first fishing trip.
