LDV = Lebensdauerverlängerung
First time ever seeing one of these! Very rare van not many of these sold here in the UK. Made in China now so maybe that's why..
Looks quite nice in silver.

I think this is probably ex-Transco?
Pleasingly still on the road. Only 10k covered in the entire computerised MOT records.

My first LDV outside GB! Foreign LDV's aren't that unusual of visitors but they've always eluded me.
Due to the lighting inside all photos were taken handheld at fairly high ISO settings.

In superb condition, especially as it looks to be a working vehicle. 103,000 miles at the last MOT, and it only recorded 45 miles from the one previous.
There are only 619 Pilots on the road now; down from over 6,000 ten years ago.
Back in 2001 LDV was a flourishing company, their factory was at Washwood Heath and their new vehicles were given a short test trip on a special multi-surface road before being stored beside the railway. The sun is setting as 08418 shuffles the RMC sleeper depot. Today the vans are long gone, the gasworks has been demolished and the sleeper depot is no more. The old Metro-Cammell works closed and after a long period of being a bridge used only by railway photographers and fly-tippers the bridge has closed as well. The whole area changing with the arrival of HST with a new depot and trackworks being developed.
08418 was built at Derby Works as D3533 it went new to Balloch 10/07/1958

There's always something of interest at this house. The Skoda has been off the road since 1996. The van is registered as an LDV but has a Freight Rover grill, which I think is more in keeping with its age. It's an LHD 1.8 petrol first registered in 2005, and currently on SORN. The tax and MOT are only just out; I've seen it on the road during the summer.

Taken on full zoom so not the best photo.
On SORN and I'd imagine it will stay like that until it's scrapped.
Last MOT'd in 2011 when it had covered 183,000 miles, so it had plenty of use.
