Taken at Mayfield lavender nursery, this is such a great place to visit albeit for me a 2 hour drive, you do need to get here early as it gets extremely busy.
I went up to Hitchin Lavender Farm yesterday afternoon - a little late in the season but still gorgeous. Another one of those times when I don't know which one I like the best - non brilliant but they are nice enough. The colours are a little faded but the scent was fantastic. Glad I put trousers on though - millions of bees...
Found in my favourite garden, it's full of lavender and smells wonderful.
Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
Another shot from the rolling fields of lavender in Provence, France shot in summer 2015. In this case from a field which had a tree in the middle of it. It looked rather nice though and other than that the fields were really trying to maximize the crop on that patch with the flowers growing really close to it.
You can also see other images from France in my France set.

Sunrise at Mayfield's Lavender farm proved to work well other than the early alarm call !
Quite windy with the clouds passing by speedily meant the light was tricky to filter for. The ground was also waterlogged from the previous day's rain which saw me trudging round in soggy shoes which wasn't much fun! The wet conditions seemed to have flattened a lot of the crop which spoilt a few of the better compositions.
I chose to work with the wind and a blurry foreground in this instance, in hindsight I should have made the effort to get a sharp one too, guess that can wait for another year!
