Andalucía ha alcanzado un acuerdo para acoger el próximo mes de noviembre los Latin Grammys 2023 y celebrar de esta manera la gala por primera vez fuera de Estados Unidos. Además, la región acogerá en la misma fecha la Semana de los Latin Grammy, que incluye un programa de actuaciones y actividades vinculadas a la gala, así como dos grandes conciertos cada año entre 2023 y 2025.
Así lo ha anunciado el presidente de la Junta, Juanma Moreno, tras la reunión que ha mantenido en el Palacio de San Telmo con el CEO de La Academia Latina de la Grabación, Manuel Abud, y la vicepresidenta del Consejo Directivo de La Academia, Eva Cebrián; organizadores del certam. Ambas partes han calificado el acuerdo como algo “histórico” y “sin precedentes”.
“La Academia calcula que la Semana de los Latin Grammys atraerá a nuestra comunidad a unas 12.000 personas gracias a la máxima expectación y repercusión mediática que genera en todo el ámbito musical. Y si hablamos de su difusión mediática, hay que tener en cuenta que la entrega de los Latin Grammy Awards es el evento más visto en Estados Unidos entre el público latino, por encima incluso de los Oscar”, ha recordado Moreno.
El acuerdo alcanzado entre la Junta y la organización de los Latin Grammys es por tres años, y contempla que La Academia Latina de la Grabación será la que elegirá la sede del evento en función de criterios técnicos que cubran las necesidades del mismo.
A este respecto, el presidente ha concretado que “la apuesta de la Junta es Sevilla, la cual reúne los requisitos de auditorio, planta hotelera y conexiones idóneas para acoger al gala”. Por ello, ha asegurado que ya ha emplazado al ayuntamiento de la capital andaluza “a poner todas las facilidades del mundo” para hacer de la ciudad la sede de este evento.
“Pero no hablamos solo de los Latin Grammys. Se trata de mucho más. Hablamos de dos grandes conciertos organizados por la Academia a partir de septiembre de este mismo año, y de otros dos tanto en 2024 como en 2025. Y hablamos también de esa semana de actividades de primerísimo nivel, con al menos otras ocho grandes citas musicales en Andalucía, pero también con una agenda de actividades complementarias”, ha avanzado el presidente. El programa incluirá, por ejemplo, acciones dirigidas a escolares, o iniciativas como becas formativas para artistas.
Además, Moreno ha subrayado la enorme repercusión internacional que tiene la ceremonia de los Latin Grammys. En redes sociales, su retransmisión deja más de 10,5 millones de interacciones, con alcance en informativos y programas de todo el mundo.
“Todo ello nos va a permitir afianzar a Andalucía como marca de prestigio, no solo a efectos turísticos, así como lograr una mayor visibilidad en el mercado internacional, especialmente en el estadounidense”, se ha felicitado Moreno
Fruto de este acuerdo, la Junta invertirá 18 millones de euros de cara a todas las actuaciones previstas alrededor de un evento cuyo impacto económico se estima próximo a los 500 millones. De ellos, solo la Semana de los Latin Grammys en noviembre de este año tendrá más de 300 millones de repercusión.
