Latch on a door in an abandoned store. The door was locked, even though the entire wall next to it had completely fallen over. A good idea out of context.
A common latch for 1920 but, until recently, impossible to find nowadays. Rejuvenation took our suggestion and now manufactures a very high end latch (solid brass) with this shape of handle.
It's funny, but sometimes the simplest things can be really beautiful photographs. I think that's what I'm discovering more and more as I continue to take these things.This is a close up of the latch on a huge shipping container that happens to live at the edge of the parking lot at Peralta Studios.

GB and I stepped out on the balcony to view the sights- underdressed, of course (GB in short sleeves and barefoot). Luka played with the toddler height latch and we were stuck outside for about 20 minutes. He couldn't fix it. No amount of explanation could get him to lift the latch, rather than push it down.
Ra'am was in the shower, so we had to wait til he was done- hoping it wouldn't be TOO long of a shower. We were cold!
