Composition Lantern&dome. Temple of the Christ of the Savior. Building proceeded almost 44 years: the temple has been put on September, 23rd, 1839, consecrated — on May, 26th, 1883. On December, 5th, 1931 the temple building has been destroyed. It is anew built up on a former place in 1994-1997.
I was so lucky to get this shot , a few days ago I went out onto my balcony and the Sun was just before setting, the light of which was beaming across the plants and that's when I noticed a small patch of moss with those little extremities, where the light was actually now illuminating them, they looked like miniature organic street lamps.
With literally minutes to get it together, I first tried using the Tamron with the Raynox but it was a little too close at 70mm, so I then tried the Nikkor 55-200mm again with the Raynox and brought down the ISO to achieve the glow without blowing out the detail. It was a little tricky as the lens was balanced on the side of the pot to get the angle achieved.
Anyway, I think I got there in the end!

Large elegant lanterns at the entrance to the museum in Kaluga. (The museum was closed, but the details caught my attention.)
Chinese Lantern Festival, Philadelphia
Swung by the Chinese Lantern Festival in Philadelphia; it opened on April 21st and will run until June - well worth checking out if in the vicinity. Will post a few more later.
We raise them, we light them and then we cover them.
Such is tradition.
Even though it's such a beautiful sight, these red lanterns, there's always something quite sombre, in my opinion about them. Much like life, it just takes a little light to open up a whole new world.
