I told Jenny a watched pot never boils . . . but she says she likes to keep Cecily company. Jenny can sit very still for quite some time, after all.

The first stage of sculpting a new head. Suffice to say, he's far from finished and it's going to take a lot of work before I'm happy with him (the width of his lips needs to change, for instance).

But this picture kind of shows the direction I'm taking with him. I hope you like him.

Drazen is going to be a head for the 60cm body. The clay I'm using is LaDoll clay.

P Myoung-ok's doll work.

tall 60cm,ladoll clay.

Trying to look like Cecily. Jenny really isn't hamming it up--she just takes a lot of pleasure in simple things.

This head was originally supposed to be one of my OCs, but he's taken a drastic twist, and I couldn't bring myself to squash away a base with so much personality. So I'll have to make another head for the OC, but for now, I really like this random guy...

Comparison of the eyes and new sketchs. Now to work in the body joints...

This is my 2nd doll Home made

She's not in resin, she's in dough darwi (like "ladoll"), it's the prototype.

She's a MSD of 43 cm.

Her name is Sybile.

She was born in 2008

White Drozofillas cannot see, they lack something colour related in their eyes. Mr. Drozofilla doesn't mind, though. He's perfectly OK with himself.

strung - but not with elastics, just a small lace of sort, to put her all together.

she... well.. kinda gives me goosebumps. -.-

don't know if wanting to keep on or not.

Cecily got test strung tonight (even though she probably needs more sanding--but I got impatient, haha). She definitely has some issues . . . Her leg holes need fixed (which I pretty much knew all along but didn't want to admit, sigh), and I have to make all the holes for the string a bit bigger, because there's not enough room for more than one piece of elastic to go through most of them. (That's why her feet just dangle and her hands aren't connected well--I had to knot them there for the test stringing.)

Also--that button on her head won't be staying. :) I just haven't gotten a chance to go buy the jewelry part I want to put up there for the string. You won't be able to see it like you can this button, which I think makes Cecily look a bit like she has a mohawk. Haha.

clay bjd.

material: Ladoll clay

Joints: 14

Eyes: painted

Wig: syntetich mohair wig

Height: 28 cm

I sewed the dress and did the embroidery on it, and made the mask from LaDoll air dry clay. She also has matching bloomers! Lol.

Cheddar's still here~

She hasn't made tons of progress, but she does have the beginnings of a headcap now...I'm having a hard time picturing what I'd do with a finished Cheddar though. 8<

Jenny is acting as a proportion guide for me. I'm definitely not trying to copy her, and my doll is actually going to be a bit smaller than Jenny, but she is still very helpful. :) I also started a blog about Cecily's progress, to hopefully keep me motivated: ayla160.blog.com/

P.S. Wow, I really need to give Jenny her own name, not just her stock one!

P.P.S. Too bad this came out so blurry. Kinda hurts my eyes. Maybe you shouldn't look . . .

Author's bjd OOAK by murvenart. LaDoll 35cm. located in a private collection

Oh, man . . . I had this bright idea to make a little art doll out of air drying clay. Then I had the unfortunate idea of trying to make it balljointed. Hahaha . . .

Here we are so far: head (no features, going to be kind of anime style), very-lumpy-not-smoothed-yet body, and some sad little ball joints. Obviously the latter two still need a lot of work . . . and I still need to sculpt the limbs and other joints. We'll see what happens.

Sculpting in progress for a mini BJD boy. Working with La Doll for the first time and I love it. I am having a hard time working with such small pieces and engineering them to be sturdy enough for stringing, while keeping the parts in proportion.

They tell you be happy.

They tell you to smile.

They tell you be better.

They tell not to cry.

They hurt you, so what?

You're bleeding, big deal!

That's all your own fault,

They can't make you heal.

Be kind with them for they mean you no harm!

That's not their fault that you're having no charm,

That's not their fault that you're stupid and sad,

That thing withing you that is making you bad.

So hush! don't be rude,

To help you they came!

They did what they could,

It is you who to blame.

This is Feta, my current favorite head of the bunch I've been sculpting. I know EXACTLY what I want to do with a finished Feta~

Haha, she's so very odd and probably no one but me will love her, but she's my baby right now. x'3

She still reminds me of a fish and a horse at the same time. O_o

Boll Jointed Doll, Ladoll

Hana here is my first serious attempt to sculpt a doll head. I'm using LaDoll Premier clay around a styrofoam core.

She photographs horribly, but she's coming along nicely. XD Already much better than she was at the end of day one, though I didn't get a photo of her then.

I am going to even out her cheeks more tomorrow, and then work on more nose and mouth detail. Then if I have time I'll try to work on her eyes a bit.
