so. Olympia will never be casted in resin. she's half a success and half a fail, as her lower body/legs aren't good enough to allow her to stand on her feet ^^

have to improve very much, and go back to more basic joints. but she's been a lot of fun and she'll ever hold a spot inside my heart. I'll make her a proper wig soon ^_^

I really love seeing her come together. She still needs a lot of work--head needs evened out, elbow joints need to be a little smaller or hole in the bottom of the top part of the arm needs opened up a bit, and I'm pretty sure I'll be redoing the hands and feet completely. The way I did them with the joints did not work out very well . . . Think I'd like to try a new approach.

Still--I really love seeing her come together! :)

More ladoll and sanding! This picture was more to help me line up where her rib cage is going to be.

Prototype is here, and I love him! It's great to finally see him in resin.

Puck is a doll sculpted by me with Ladoll Clay and now cast in NS environmental resin. He is 57cm large.

Adding detail! No more caved in stomach. The collarbones need fixing though. The clay is darker because I am going to do all the detail and give her a skin in ladoll, which has a nicer surface, but isn't as strong as primer.

Oh, man . . . I had this bright idea to make a little art doll out of air drying clay. Then I had the unfortunate idea of trying to make it balljointed. Hahaha . . .

Here we are so far: head (no features, going to be kind of anime style), very-lumpy-not-smoothed-yet body, and some sad little ball joints. Obviously the latter two still need a lot of work . . . and I still need to sculpt the limbs and other joints. We'll see what happens.

I still don't know if this is going to work out in the end . . . but I am glad to be trying! Got the legs shaped, but they still need work. So does the core body . . . and the feet will need to be built up. (I'm keeping them simple, though--no toes, I don't think.)

Btw, her name is going to be Cecily. :) I also started a blog about her progress, to hopefully keep me motivated: ayla160.blog.com/

I told Jenny a watched pot never boils . . . but she says she likes to keep Cecily company. Jenny can sit very still for quite some time, after all.

The first stage of sculpting a new head. Suffice to say, he's far from finished and it's going to take a lot of work before I'm happy with him (the width of his lips needs to change, for instance).

But this picture kind of shows the direction I'm taking with him. I hope you like him.

Drazen is going to be a head for the 60cm body. The clay I'm using is LaDoll clay.

P Myoung-ok's doll work.

tall 60cm,ladoll clay.

Trying to look like Cecily. Jenny really isn't hamming it up--she just takes a lot of pleasure in simple things.

This head was originally supposed to be one of my OCs, but he's taken a drastic twist, and I couldn't bring myself to squash away a base with so much personality. So I'll have to make another head for the OC, but for now, I really like this random guy...

Comparison of the eyes and new sketchs. Now to work in the body joints...

White Drozofillas cannot see, they lack something colour related in their eyes. Mr. Drozofilla doesn't mind, though. He's perfectly OK with himself.

strung - but not with elastics, just a small lace of sort, to put her all together.

she... well.. kinda gives me goosebumps. -.-

don't know if wanting to keep on or not.

Cecily got test strung tonight (even though she probably needs more sanding--but I got impatient, haha). She definitely has some issues . . . Her leg holes need fixed (which I pretty much knew all along but didn't want to admit, sigh), and I have to make all the holes for the string a bit bigger, because there's not enough room for more than one piece of elastic to go through most of them. (That's why her feet just dangle and her hands aren't connected well--I had to knot them there for the test stringing.)

Also--that button on her head won't be staying. :) I just haven't gotten a chance to go buy the jewelry part I want to put up there for the string. You won't be able to see it like you can this button, which I think makes Cecily look a bit like she has a mohawk. Haha.
