I thought about Anne Shirley as I made this beautyfull teddy-doll. Perhaps, because she hat freckles and looks so trustful ^__^ I think she is more doll as a teddy and she didn't want to wear any bows or bells. She asked me to make her a very special accessory - a lace shawl with a brooch from silk bow, polymer clay flowers and a tiny key.
Shirley is 29,5 cm tall, she was sewn from viscose (hand dyed) and her face is hand-sculpted and painted by me from LaDoll. Her hair are from softest mohair.
She is fully cotter pin jointed, has a wobble-head and stuffed with polyfill with steel beads for stability and a nice weight. Her arms and legs are fasted a little bit loose just to give Shirley a nice feeling in the arms.
Gila is 25 cm tall (without ears)l, she was sewn from the new fleece by Shulte and her face is hand-sculpted and painted by me from LaDoll. Her hair are from softest mohair and I painted her a small strawberry at her left cheek ^__^

Work in Progress--Clay is still drying.
Lindy is a 7" tall bust of a young girl made of LaDoll air-dry clay. I made her in a class taught by the Australian artist, Linda Misa. You can see Linda's work here: tact-ilse.blogspot.com/ and on Facebook: www.facebook.com/linda.misa. I highly recommend her classes.

time to check proportions and to share the shoulder joint potentialities.
ok. I think I'm quite sure I've seen it somewhere. can't remember where, or when.
imho it's a great idea, and if I've seen it, it wasn't meant to be kept secret. I'm sharing it myself.
all the credits to the person who imagined this first, even if I don't know who is.
it adds lot of fun to all the shoulder movements, so, since I still want double joints for the hips, I thought i could add some spice to the shoulders too.
opinion and critiques are as always more than welcomed!
resuming matilde's project after a while.
it could be said she's completed, but since I'm never satisfied I'm re-making all her joints and adding details here and there.
planning 3 pairs of feet: flat, heeled and ballerina feet. *giggle* it's so funny!
here's the right foot with one of the right hands I've made - still unfinished. kinda like them.

So a glimpse of a face is there.
Applying volumes here and there for the basic structure of each part. After this has dryed I need give better shape and re do some parts, sand and continue with this tedious process.
I like it though. It's a whole new challenge working with volumes. And I guess i will be re working and re doing this quite a few more times.
I want her to have that special expression.

. . . Both in the stage she's at and to the touch. :)
This is (or is going to be) Byrd, I think. Byrd is a little bjd I wanted as a character but couldn't find a "cheap" (like Obitsu) head I liked for her, so I decided to try to make my own. I don't know . . . If she doesn't end up fitting the character, she will be someone else, which is perfectly fine, too. :D
It's just so hard to feel any kind of confidence at this rough of a stage, though. She looks so alien and needs so much work. But--I'm not quitting on her. I need to finish something! I still have my Cecily from over a year ago, and I am vowing to go back to her, but there are some other things, like Byrd, that I find I need to try my hand at first. :)

Here is how she is right now, arm joints are not finished and i need to work on her hands and foots.
I was trying to do a very small size, just like the sketch, but actually the face was so mall that i was worried about eyes looking not so pretty.

ok, I admit she's slowly growing on me. I'll finish her I guess... hopefully soon. still a couple of weeks of work.

This is a Custom LaDoll BJD I am working on. I'm going to call this model "Luna" when it's complete.
This is the face with no detail work done to it yet. I've sanded it down a bit, but I need to finish shaping and sanding the lips, nose and adding eyelids.
I originally planned the doll to be 40CM, and the head uses 16MM eyes, but I might pull a blythe, and change the body size to preserve my LaDoll.
