JACOB'S LADDER
traditional, additional lyrics by Pete Seeger
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
Brothers, sisters, all
Every rung goes higher and higher
Every rung goes higher and higher
Every rung goes higher and higher
Brothers, sisters, all
We are dancing Sarah's circle
We are dancing Sarah's circle
We are dancing Sarah's circle
Sisters, brothers, all
Every round a generation
Every round a generation
Every round a generation
Sisters, brothers, all
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
We are climbing Jacob's ladder
Brothers, sisters, all
Been almost a month now till I went out for shooting. Here a piece that I worked on over the weekend.
Found this ladder stranded over the beach and had it 'moved' to place it in center for stronger composition. The tide are fast receeding and you can notice that the FG are the sands (not Noise, lol!) which I reckon its a litle distracting as I would like to achieve cleaner image. But due to the current; the ladder will move if I 'moved' it more towards the sea. Thus, I just leave it at it is.
Well, pretty satisfied with this shot and learned something new on the processing side.
Cheers and hope all had a good one so far for 2012. I will catch up soon.

I believe the three tallest ladders are for picking fruit. These ladders appear to have been used plenty already.

I insist that you see this one LARGE!
I'm using this photo to officially announce my new blog. I've mentioned it a briefly in previous posts, but now it is really up and running. It will feature before and afters of my photos, tutorials (soon), and weekly interviews with artists I find inspirational. This week I interviewed one of my flickr favorites, Midnight-Digital, and next week I will interview the incomparable Solea, so be sure to check back.
Jacob's Ladder is actually the real name of this staircase that scales an enormous hill in my hometown. I used three images that I captured to create this (check out before and afters) and the lighting was inspired by the aforementioned, Midnight-Digital.

A class 25 hurries past Plumpton Junction signal box with a down flask train in June 1984. The wooden ladder - which is marked "B.R. Barrow" - was being used to support some form of staging during the painting of the signalbox, I guess it wouldn't be the approved way of working at height nowadays!
On the opposite side of the tracks here, the Lakeside branch had both an east and a west connection to the main line forming a triangular junction, but there was also another similar - though smaller - triangle of lines on this side of the sidings serving limestone quarries until the late 1940s. Both these "triangles" of tracks can clearly be traced on satellite view maps like Google Earth or OS Aerial view.
Viewed from the access gate it can be seen that the sleepers are still in place from one of the lines that fed into the sidings from the Plumpton Quarries.
This juvenile woodpecker was inspecting the birdbath in my backyard. A young male just starting to grow the red feathers in his crown. This species of woodpecker is one of the smaller ones in our area and their high-pitched "yip" calls alert me to their presence.
