Demonstration of 95ft Aerial Ladder Truck - 3-18-2017. On Saturday, March 18, 2017, the Middlebury Fire Dept. brought the 95ft Aerial Ladder Firetruck that they are selling (because they were able to purchase a new one), to the parking lot of the Bristol Fire Department. Although there has been interest from all over the Country, they would prefer that it would stay in the local community to increase protection for all. They have offered it to the Bristol Fire Department for $45,000. Bristol currently has a 55ft. 1980 Aerial Ladder truck that has needed repeated repairs to keep it in service. There are many new industrial buildings in Bristol, that the old truck is inadequate to be able meet needs to safely control a fire at these locations.New Bristol Chief Nic Kantz and Captain Denny Swartz came to the Bristol Town Council meeting to request that the truck be purchased for the department from the funds from the Town of Bristol. The Council voted unanimously to fund the request. Members of the Council came to the demonstration and even rode on the platform as the aerial ladder on the new truck was extended. Although the new truck is unequipped, Bristol will use equipment from the old truck and later buy what is need. They will put the old truck up for auction. Thanks to Chris D. and Ron N. for the aerial photos. Just the Facts: The Bristol Fire Department is a separate corporation; it provides Fire and EMS service to Bristol and the surrounding areas, including the Town of Bristol, Washington Twp. and part of York Twp. The Town of Bristol and Washington Twp. has contracts with the Fire Dept. Washington Twp. has provided funds for other vehicles in the past few years. West York Twp. has a very limited budget for fire protection.
Another from The Club Room. Nik Sharpener was especially important in this shot to bring out the texture. Nothing was moved in the shot, but I spent a long time selecting where to place the camera.
