Label printer cartridges for labels in the signature colors of the Christmas holiday season. (These cartridges produce their respective colors on a clear base, visible when the backing is peeled off. )
Even though the color combination has such a strong seasonal association, I use these tapes to label white 16mm leaders, using the same green-head and red-tail standard as I would with colored leader.
if you're killing time
make sure it's worth killing
lately i've been very busy at work, typically arriving home at 8pm, this leaves me with "technically" 4 hours to do whatever i can in this tiny time frame. i have a large backlog of photos and blog entries that need finishing, a stack of christmas cards i still haven't got round to making and sending out (i will send them mind so look out!), a lot of emails to reply to and simply not enough time to do it all.
some action is required, so i've decided to get back to productive me and start compiling todo lists with manageable deadlines for me to complete the task. the main ones include:
1. finish christmas cards and send out tomorrow
2. finish november photos and blog entries on sunday
3. email outstanding emails by friday
4. clean up my room
5. continue drafting up ideas for 365
the main time waster i'm suffering right now is the likes of facebook. though the time spent there is pretty minimal, it still hogs a bit of time so that needs to go. so in this photo i've stuck a nice label on top of my monitor to remind me to stay on task. the boats are really there for show, i learnt to fold them when doing my photo set / short story "lost coastlines".
Here's a journal page I just finished about an hour ago. It's about some issues that have been building . . . and not sure what the solution is. But it felt great to work in my journal. I haven't been taking the time to do it lately.
This valentine was inspired by a gorgeous card that Julie Ebersole created for Online Card Classes Clean & Simple 4. (I didn't have gesso so I clear embossed the images and then ironed off the embossing powder.) Thanks for looking.

I finished the journal page that I started yesterday. This is Day 2 of 30 Days of Get Your Art On. You can read all about it here.
August 25, 2016 - Labels bug me. The labels we apply to others, the labels people apply to themselves. They all bug me.
We label people so that we know they are like us, or they aren't, and then the world becomes reduced to "us" and "them", and that really bugs me.
Some people want labels because they think the label brings prestige and that makes them proud and lets them feel important, it provides a personal identity, one that's often not warranted.
If I ask you what you do, I want to hear something about your work that excites you and ignites you, not a hollow and meaningless title that just sounds pretty (or silly).
Be proud of how well you do what you do, not the label that's attached to it.

i realised i had quite a few now.
the biggest one makes by far the nicest labels.
it's a little tricky to make it work though.

I WANTED THOSE SHOES SO BAD when I was 12. I even had this exact pic on my wall.
I also thought the labelmaker accessories were awesome too.
A lot of ramblings from me.

290/365 - Our Daily Challenge - "Neat":
My kids tease me about my insane love of the Rubbermaid aisle, Container Store, and office supply store. How did I live without a label maker for so many years? I think I might need an intervention...
No dust was harmed in the making of this photo. I just set up some foam board and left the dirt where it was. lol
