Label for Betty Boop Jackets. We've recently started adding large woven labels to our licensed jackets, and I absolutely love the pure indulgence of designing them. Pretty much what I say goes. "Hey, design a Baby Boop label". "OK, how about this?" "Great, send it for production" And here's the sample. Sweet.
I was surprised to see the gender designation in my raincoat. I like it better than the standard, though it's another label i resist.

Parking garage elevator control panel at Whole Foods in Santa Monica, CA. Relative, write-in labels disambiguate well. Shows the importance of writing in an interface.
Logo and label design for River Pines Winery, Australia. I have combined the river and the pine trees in a very simple, recognizable icon. See more of my work at www.pattersonvisual.com or call 864.9071320
I have always been a big fan of wine label design. :::loves wine tasting too::: I've been studying wine labels more than normal due to my work on Odonatia's winery, Dark Palms. I have come to the conclusion recently though that I would really like to get into the industry as a label designer someday. These are some of the ones I found really interesting because of shape, color or overall composition...

This picture shows a labelled bottle of chemical agent taken from a chemistry lab at the University of Waterloo. On the label, instructions for handling the chemical are printed, and fortunately, these instructions correctly dictate how to handle the potentially dangerous chemical properly.
The potential tort could lie with the supplier (if this bottle is directly from them) or the university (if they poured the chemical into a new bottle) in the area of product liability. If the label is incorrect (or in some cases non-existence), it could cause someone harm if the proper handling procedures that should be described on the label is not used.
According to Health Canada: "Section 13 of the Hazardous Products Act (HPA) places a legal requirement on the Canadian supplier of a WHMIS controlled product "intended for use in a work place in Canada" to apply a label disclosing prescribed information as a condition of sale." (requirements for supplier)
AND
"Provincial requirements place an onus on employers to ensure that controlled products used, stored, handled or disposed of in the workplace are properly labelled, MSDSs are made available to workers, and workers receive education and training to ensure the safe storage, handling and use of controlled products in the workplace." (requirements for employer aka. the university)
The supplier AND the university owe a duty of care to the ones using this chemical product as they are the ones providing this product to the users. The proper labeling of the bottle helps prevent "failure-to-warn" claims from potential students or users of this chemical.
The United States has labeled the Syrian rebel group Al-Nousra Front as a terrorist organization while slapping sanctions on the group’s leaders over their alleged ties to al-Qaeda. In imposing the designations, the U.S. State Department said Al-Nousra Front has been responsible for 600 attacks since November 2011, including more than 40 suicide bombings.
The State Department said “The violent, sectarian vision of Al-Nousra is at odds with the aspirations of the Syrian people, including the overwhelming majority of the Syrian opposition, who seek a free, democratic, and inclusive Syria.”
The blacklisting prevents the U.S. government from giving material support to Al-Nousra Front, which has been one of the most ferocious groups fighting against the Syrian government. President Bashar al-Assad says terrorist groups like Al-Nousra Front are responsible for inciting the violence in his nation.
The terror organization has claimed responsibility for dozens of suicide and car bombings against government targets in Syria and says its members are “among the most effective fighters in the conflict.”
Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says new intelligence reports indicate Syria hasn’t taken any new steps toward utilizing its arsenal of chemical weapons. “We haven't seen anything new indicating any aggressive steps to move forward in that way,” Panetta told reporters during a flight to Kuwait. Despite that good news, Panetta said the U.S. is still concerned Syria might ultimately choose to deploy the chemical weapons in their on-going civil war.
Conflict and bent toward war are engrained within the heart of man, but nations and individuals constrain themselves to not give in to these tendencies. Pray for the Syrian people, who are the innocent victims in the country’s on-going civil war? Pray, too, that other nations will help those fleeing the fighting and that a peaceful solution will be found to the Syrian conflict.

Because some paint bled when doing the label (I didn't think to pin the letters down until late in the game, so paint blew under them), I decided to outline the letters with a Sharpie to increase the contrast.
Using chalkboard contact paper a paper cutter, paper punch, and wet chalk markers, I have a easily changeable organization method.
I like to use those big craft sticks for my plant markers. I first coat them with a bit of organic linseed oil and then I use a sharpie to write on them. They work wonderfully!
This device label Ravage is my first toy from the Japanese line. Here he is in robotic jaguar mode.
His robot mode is quite nice and is the highlight of the toy. This form is also better than the prior classics release that came with Hound.
The desktop software he comes with is also a nice bonus in that a digital Ravage can stalk around your desktop.
