Hear-Ring Lab student researcher Colleen O'Brien (2020) was recently selected to receive the 2017 Audiology/Hearing Science Research Travel Award (ARTA) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Through the ARTA, Colleen attended the 2017 ASHA Convention in Los Angeles, California in November 2017. She was given the opportunity to attend the conference, learn about innovative audiology research, network with other audiology students and professionals, and present her research. Pictured is Colleen with fellow ARTA recipient Areeka Tiwari (2018), Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium Program Director Dr. Yula Serpanos, and Clinical Coordinator Dr. Ianthe Murad.

The Sellwood Laboratory was originally the Portland Railway, Light and Power Company's Sellwood Division Carbarn Office and Carmen's Club. It was later used by USFS forest entomologists and pathologists as a laboratory, insectary, photo lab, and shop. Located at: 8825 Southeast 11th Avenue, Portland Oregon.

Elliot and I have been learning about electronics lately, since our visit to a workshop in NYC last summer. She's planning on doing something with this knowledge for her upcoming science fair at school, so she's been working to figure out how things go. "Crazy Labs" is the name she's given to our lab, which is also my music room.
This is part of my modular synth.
