I took this shot of Zena posing with our black lab in 1971. Bessie brought her daughter to work at my mother's apartment several days a week. When I first met this little girl, she did not talk at all. Everyone thought she was "slow".
But I spent hours with her when I got back from school, talking to her and drawing her out, until she finally began talking. She was a beautiful but shy little girl, who just needed some encouragement.
My work with her was one of the things that inspired me to major in psychology when I went off to college later that year.
i saw a white rat in the lab so i decided to drow one :)
i will be happy to hear from you
feel free to comment and how can i improve it
Travis introduces the concept of converting cellulosic biomass into ethanol and gives some background on the science and engineering challenge of the lab. Students will take on the role of researchers at the GLBRC.

although i don't think any mad scientists actually ever worked at the ravenswood hospital on the north side of chicago, you couldn't tell by the condition this lab was left behind in.
unfortunately, when i went with my homeboy to go shoot this place, there was an arrogant, hipster-urbexer shooting the exterior. he was a complete asshole (i hope he reads this). i should have taken his skateboard from him. he's lucky my brother in law was there too - i wouldn't have been so nice otherwise.
YOUR COMMENT IS THE GREATEST "AWARD" YOU COULD GIVE -- No graphics please.
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY COMMENTS!!!
