Kitsune was super surprised and excitedly rubbed foxy noses with Kumiho. What a sweet gesture this was!!
Koneko smiled to herself and then looked proudly at her dad. "Daddy, I did it! I changed!", she squealed happily before noticing something moving behind her. She turned around several times before catching site of what it was. She had somehow not been able to fully get rid of her fox tail. She giggled at the site of it. She'd get the hang of it someday.
"I wanted to make you something special, since for so long you lived alone in a cage. I hope you can accept it," she said as she leapt lightly down from his bed.
The only answer he could give was a tight squeeze and a little whimper of approval. He was beyond touched, and excitement filled his heart.
"I'll be right back, love," he whispered as he gave her a little kiss on the cheek. He also had a very special surprise to give to her, and it seemed like the perfect time to give it to her.

Though he sometimes still felt sad about it, he tried to go about his days as though he were special, even though, in his heart, he scarcely believed that he was.
Kumiho's snout elongated, his eyes grew, and fur covered his body. He had fully transformed into a fox. Koneko had never actually witnessed her mom and dad change before, but it was far less scary than she had thought. He had smiled the entire time. He hadn't been in pain at all.
Maybe she could do it, after all. Kumiho barked happily before saying "Okay now, lovely. Your turn. Mommy will be so proud if you change form! And you can finally attend school!".

Baxter smiled and turned to follow her to the kitchen, but just as he was about to head out of the door, he turned to look at the tiny bear and bunny inside of the thin glass wall.
"Wouldn't it be nice", Baxter said to himself quietly. "If I made a little house to put these in for Mew as a surprise? I am just so proud of her, saving her money like that to buy her own toy. I think I shall do that tomorrow after work".
And with that, Baxter shut the door on Mew's room and went down to await his dinner that his wife and daughter were preparing for him.

"Yes, Koneko. Daddy and I found out something very special today", Kitsune started. "We found out that you, Koneko, are going to have a new baby brother very soon", she finished slowly, unsure of how Koneko would react at first.
Koneko looked from her dad, who was nodding slightly, and her mom who was smiling and started to giggle and run around, arms wildly flailing about.
"Yay! Baby brother! Can't wait! When can I see him? What's his name? Is he a fox like me? When will he be here? Can I name him myself? Can I name him butt?", Koneko trilled before finally falling on the floor and rolling around in a fit of giggles.
Kitsune and Kumiho looked at each other briefly beofre turning themselves into foxes as well, and playing with Koneko until she got tired and fell asleep.
"We have our work cut out for us on this one", Kumiho said to Kitsune as they watched Koneko sleep soundly.
"Yes...but it's worth it", Kitsune said before lying down for a nap herself.
Finally, Kumiho opened the door. He smiled to himself as he looked around. Today was delivery day, his favorite day of the the week, and he was expecting lots of very special products to arrive.
