Once Shakthi was reborn as Parvati, Brahma performed a yaga to save god men from two demons known as sandobi and sundaran. Through this yagna Thilothama as Apsaras came to life. Attracted by the beauty of Thilothama, the demons, and even Brahma, followed her. For her protection she went to Kailash where Brahma also followed. As Brahma also was with five heads, Parvathi mistook him for Shiva and felt at his feet. When Parvathi realized the truth, she was very angry and prayed Shiva that the fifth head of Brahma should be destroyed. So Shiva as "Rudra" removed one head of Brahma so Brahma now with four heads cursed Shiva that his fifth head must be attached to his hand itself and hereafter Shiva must be affected having hunger, having no sleep. So Shiva came to earth and roamed everywhere. When he was hungry he begged and ate, but half of the food he begged was eaten by the fifth head of Brahma: that is, the "Kabala" so Shiva roamed in every graveyard and slept in ashes and that form of Shiva is worhipped as Sudalaimadan in south India.
Parvati went to her brother Lord Vishnu and asked for relief for her husband so Lord Vishnu said to Parvati, "My dear sister, go to thandakarunyam graveyard with your husband and make a pond there named "Agni kula theertham" and prepare a tasty food made by Agathi keerai (Humming bird tree leaves) and blood of chicken and serve that food to kabala and then throw the food everywhere in the graveyard. The kabala will come down, leaving Shiva's hand, to eat the food. Then take your husband to the pond and clean him with that water so that it will not catch your husbands hand". Parvati did as her brother said: she took her husband to thandakarunyam graveyard and prepared the food, served it to the kabala and then threw it in the graveyard. The kabala came down from Shiva's hand; meanwhile, Parvati took her husband to the pond and cleaned him. The kabala searched for Shiva's hand but could not touch him so it attached to Parvati's hand. So Parvati forgot about this and danced; then she recognised what had happened and become big and destroyed the kabala with her right leg.
The fiercest form (Angara rubam or Agora rubam) which destroyed the kabala when separated from Parvati is called Angalaamman. Parvati told Angalaamman to stay there and give a boon to the people who worship her and she went to Kailayam. However, Shiva was not there. Shiva got relief from Brahma's curse, but he was too hungry so he went Kasi and there Parvati, incarnated as "Annapoorani Devi", served him food and Shiva ate and got relief from his hunger.
In the Thandakarunyam Angalaamman give boon to the people who worship her the people who had diseases went there and get relief from the diseases she drive away the evil ghosts from the people and people go there and worship her in no moon days (Amavasya) at the midnight of every no moon day Angalamman is decorated and put on a swing
Mangoes season has begun in Chennai City . . Mangoes are harvested in large numbers in Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Namakkal districts in Tamil Nadu. Many varieties of mangoes are cultivated here. The mango season will begin during the last week of March till the last week of June. The cultivation is very good this here because the north east monsoon gave a helping hand. Now plucking of fruits is going on full swing. It is common to see street vendors selling mangoes all over the city.

The world is born for me...!!!!
Well, believe me..
This is my second “SUNSET” shot all in my photography carrier....!!!
And my first from CANON 400 D With 70-200 lens!!!
I am a MORNING PERSON..
I never seen a sunset in my home town,
Even this happened I traveled down south with my friends...
I feel the food is tasteless..
And the colours are dull..
Until I see this colorful atmosphere..
The distanced “Western Ghats” looks shiny..
My cab driver applied a break...
And I started walking towards the light...
Yes... I entering another world.. Nothing visible except the mountains...
I feel just a landing bird...
Weightless... Weightless..
And here it is the proof...
SHOT TAKEN on the road between “VELLORE and KRISHNAGIRI”
AND FROM NOW ON I AM A “EVENING PERSON TOO!!!!!!

This was shot with a 70-300mm sigma lens. The original image had full dragonfly in its utmost macro level of the lens. I cropped the in focus area(ie eye) and enlarged it using photoshop, did some curves, and used selective Gaussian blur in gimp to reduce the visible noise due to enlargement. :-) happy that all liked it
This was the best angle i could make since i couldnt step down into the water..i thought of cropping the top tilted horizon but felt otherwise atlast :)

Hogenakkal Falls | Tamilnadu | India
Hogenakkal Falls - When its full of beauty.
Shoot @ 31 Aug 2007
Hogenakkal Falls is in Tamilnadu, India. It is fondly called the Indian Niagara. the place is very beautiful indeed.
River Cauvery in Southern India causes a series of beautiful falls at Hogenakkal (smoking rocks). The falls are usually gentle, beautiful and a major tourist attraction. The river Cauvery is a major river in southern India. It flows along the Karnataka-Tamilnadu State border at Hogenakkal.
The route Bangalore-Hosur-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Hogennakkal (186 km) was very good. The Indian National Highway NH-7 that connects these places is very well maintained and is a pleasure to drive. I covered this distance on hired car ... and it was a wonderful experience !
Location : Hogenakkal, 50 kms from Dharmapuri, Tamilnadu State, India
Fisherman trying to fish in the extremely rough waters at Hogenakkal. His price: a single throw of his net and he gets a bunch of fishes each about a foot long...
