Knowing the words to Volare and having seen two fellini films i felt this was my passport to the high life, and then.....
A concerned mother asks the advice of a Jesuit priest:
"Today my daughter said to me, "Why do you concentrate on heavenly desires, Mama? I like earthly desires. Heavenly desires are boring." I asked her what she thought a heavenly desire was and she said, "I don't know. God?" Then we had a big discussion (I think she was listening?) about what God and Heaven are and the difference between joy and happiness, too. I see her on the one hand with a deep, pure faith and instinct for God and on the other, having a lot of friction against any element of faith that feels 'forced'. Also this idea that heaven is an end of earthly happiness. What is your answer?"
Fr. Tony Nye SJ answers:
“Your daughter's response is understandable and that of many people. We can only imagine the joy of heaven compared with the happiness on earth. God wants both. If we concentrate on making other people (not just ourselves) happy on earth, then we shall come to know God better through that and knowing God leads to the deeper joy of heaven, which is beyond us now. Keep exercising trust. God bless. Father Tony.”

I got it working once we got home.
Knowing his departure was closer AND finally knowing WHEN he'd be out, I started taking more pictures. As you can see, he decided to be super-cute this day (and I joke and say probably "knew" a week earlier, my camera with pictures of him had been stolen).
This is a picture of dandelions that I took in my front yard. I used the word knowing because I thought it fir the whole concept on wishing on dandelions and they 'know' your wishes. I liked this photo because you can really see each little part of the dandelion. I captured this photo by getting really close to the dandelion and focusing in on it. and I took it so that the sun was shining on it.
Photography submited to the yearly exhibition of our photo club and was not chosen by the jury. This years theme of the exhibition was "Book".

With this set of photos I wanted to catch the person concentrating without them knowing I was taking a picture of them in their own surrondings.

“Knowing and Not Knowing” explores what is knowable about being a conscious being in this universe. For the past decade, Lilly has made several photographic series which reveal a dark humor combined with an uncanny trust in the unknown.
In “The Oracle@Wifi,” she poses as a fortune teller through a photographic process. “Every Single One Of These Stories Is True” re-enacts memories and dreams. “Like No Tomorrow” postulates on a disastrous future. And, in “Lost In Thought” and “A Moving Image of Eternity,” the artist pauses in the Now to contemplate the nature of time.
Rather than developing a signature style, Lilly cultivates a signature attitude – one of inquiry. She utilizes a variety of photographic styles in her conceptually-driven projects that speculate on the interplay of choice, chance and circumstance.
Lilly is a Hambidge Fellow and has also received grants from Fulton County Arts Council, Society for Photographic Education and Atlanta Celebrates Photography. Her work is in the collections of the High Museum of Art, New Mexico Museum of Art, the Zuckerman, MOCA GA, the Ogden and more. Fine art publishers Kehrer Verlag released a book of Lilly’s work in 2012. Lilly currently serves as the Executive Director for Atlanta Photography Group, a non-profit art gallery and organization whose mission is to provide opportunities and support to the photographic arts. Lilly earned an MFA in Photography from Georgia State University and currently resides in Atlanta.
