I rearranged this to show the whole peal (Kate wasn't thinking photography when she tossed the peel aside) and to maximize depth of field.

the reality is that most of my work gets done at the kitchen table. And I'm in a constant state of taking out and putting away. And the family has to look at boxes of wool hanging around.

Someday I'll build my workshop tucked back in the woods with a small wood stove, skylights, and a loft. For now...

A ‘clin d’oeil’ to the quotes above. Why? I merged two of my photos (lemons in a bowl & a few of my summer flowers) in any way I could – therefore I was not afraid to try something new.... right?!
Whereas, of course, the real reason for a common and well-abused quote like this stems from quite another deliberation.
Lately, you see no uploads from me for the simple reason that I couldn’t face commenting your wonderful work – I am in a permanent state of “wonder-doubt-desolation-courage assembling” and can’t give my thoughts to what I think merits my full attention. I go by my own rules stating that ‘if you can’t find the time to visit your Flickrites’ friends, you don’t offer your stuff’.... There.
It’s summer, even though we’re only living the 18th of June.... I awake to the sweet song of countless birds (and – when I’m lucky, to the rumbling snoring of Hero Husband), have breakfast outside, I am worn out with the pollen, blooms, the blossoms, I’m preparing everything for the elder-flowers’ syrup and later for the elder-berries’ jelly, try to keep up with my duties in house and garden, receive guests and visit... I don't sleep enough and generally burn my life-candle firmly at both ends. I confirm that it is not the amount of work that tires me out but the unwanted suspense of where we shall live in the future, and mostly: WHEN....
Being separated from your partner – even when you know you see each other at weekends, is putting great stress on any relationship. I want to help him wherever and however I can; want to hold him up when he’s tired, to cheer him when he’s had a lousy day or a difficult meeting. I’d like to do his work around the house too but can’t – I want to spoil him with lovely food and witty conversation when he’s at home, I protect his sleep and wash his socks, send him mails and don’t get angry when he doesn’t reply... but it takes a toll –I’m permanently tired, feel washed out, and haven’t got the guts to put everything aside and just take 2hrs of Flickr play-time... except now – I just did!
