It's a good thing that I have a large kitchen table, because it has plenty of room for un-needed objects.
Daughter #2 made me breakfast. She's a bit wobbly with all things that require fine motor control. Full marks for trying, but the toast wasn’t toasted, the jam unevenly spread and the coffee weak and a bit cool. I just said “it was all lovely!” 😁
It's the thought that counts.

For the Utata Pays Homage project.
In homage to Paul Outerbridge and his photo "Kitchen Table (1921).
This has to be one of the most time-consuming photos I've ever taken. This was about the 20th version of the photo and then it took ages to figure out how to do the photoshopping to make it end up looking like this.
I don't think I would ever have the patience for still life, particularly if it had to "look a certain way". :)
I've just fitted a new relay (the clear housing shiny one!) to the PCB of our 23 year old Worcester Bosch 24i combi boiler. Will it fix the issue I wonder?
No. But a relay was burnt out contacts needs replacing anyway as part of the diagnosis process.

I pulled the kitchentable + chairs away for this picture. Looks cosy, right?
* Although these pics turned out okay, I struggled a lot with the lighting. I just can't seem to get it right. I know there are some advices and tuts around here, I have to go looking for them... But if anyone has some helpful tips, they are more then welcome! Currently I use two day-lights (I once believed they might help against the winterblues, but they didn't do much for me). I have no idea where I can best put them, and end up holding one above the scene and trying to make a pic with the other hand :S
Extremely well looked after, and totally original, 1950s Retro Laminex and chrome kitchen setting. Australian made, and in a very rare color combination for here in Aus. I found this at a deceased estate of a little old lady in a very unpopulated country town.
because she said so.
I've been making my way through a cookbook that's full of recipes that really appeal to me, but which I don't think would be a hit with my kids. This morning I decided that I really wanted the poached egg on seared portabello, and that in the brief quiet time I have after drop-offs and my morning round of errands, I would make it for myself.
I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't have occurred to me to push off the million chores on my list to make myself a meal if Deirdre's recent photo/message hadn't lodged firmly in my brain.

Prepared by Daughter #2 (who can be a bit wobbly at times). I think that's my daily sugar allowance more than accounted for. It's the thought that counts.

Peruvian Lilies or (Alstroemeria) I spotted these in Marks & Spencer's in Fareham and thought they would look good on the kitchen table

we celebrated another family birthday this weekend.
delicious cupcakes courtesy of this adorable shop. I think the chocolate peanut butter cup was the hands down winner, but this rainbow cupcake took the prize for most photogenic.
Since we make and sell these Nice Fluffy PomPoms, they hang out everywhere and inevitably take over our Home.
Daughter #2 seems to have given me whatever repugnant disease she has. They are flu like symptoms. I battled through Monday, and just about made it home on my bicycle. The cold crocodile is my new friend.
* Other repugnant diseases and inflections exist. Consult your local pharmacy as required.
Mom: Oh, that's an adorable picture. And your Froot Loops. Look at those eyes.
Me: I look rather put upon, actually.
Mom: Yeah, you were probably like "Enough with the pictures every minute!"
Me: Tell me about the high chair.
Mom: Am I a bad mother that I made you sit in a high chair with flowers?
Me: Mom, I always loved flowers! I never had a problem with that!
Mom: Well, I bought the highchair to suit the décor more than to suit a little boy.
Me: I remember the highchair. I remember getting my hand caught in the crevasse between the seat and the back. But I don't remember being strapped in.
Mom: You were chained in!
Me: That makes it worse!
Mom: Why, I couldn't let you fall out! It was a cement floor!
Me: Well, modern highchairs have a tray to prevent me from...
Mom: Well, you had a tray, but now you were a big boy, and at this age, we took away the tray, and you used the chair more as a booster seat to sit at the table. Don't forget, years ago, there wasn't all the safety apparatuses you have now, and kids didn't seem to fall out of their highchairs the way they do now. Maybe they were sturdier, because they were metal instead of plastic.
Me: So at that age I could eat Froot Loops?
Mom: Yeah, well, you were already a year old.
