Part of my KitchenAid mixer.

For Macro Mondays Member's Choice - Found In The Kitchen.
I have always grabbed my trusty hand held peeler but my attachment on my KitchenAid mixer peels in half the amount of time. Guess that's progress for us who love to cook. Because I am addicted to mashed potatoes, a peeler is one of my favorite tools in the kitchen.

bake me a cake as fast as you can :)
I love cake, my husband covets one of these beautiful machines and I say delicious cake can be made without one ... but they are quite eye catching ... and expensive :)
The Kitchenaid stand mixer that I received for Christmas has been put to good use already; I made several batches of cookies to take to an open house at the local Catholic Worker House where I tutor kids and teach computer skills to women who are English learners. I love to bake, but need "victims" to whom I can donate and get the temptation out of my house :)
I suspect that food photography will be a major theme of my 366-2016 project!

Scale LEGO model of a Kitchenaid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer. My wife got one for Christmas so I built my own. The bowl is from a Duplo Egg (actually an afterthought, but it's scaled perfectly for this).
I have a beautiful full-color cookbook that is focused on making colored/flavored pastas, so today I decided to use the rest of the spinach that's been sitting in the fridge for a bit too long... And just to keep the green theme going, I made pesto from the rest of the arugula.
My 365-2022: #38 of 365
I really love my kitchenAid, so felt it very appropriate to make a paper piecing pattern of it. I reworked my previous kitchenAid design to make it a little cleaner and I'm very happy with the results!

Christmas came a little early for me this year. I was given a Kitchen Aid stand mixer by my totally awesome bf. I've always dreamed of having one of these bad boys on my kitchen counter. I was soooooo excited when I opened the box. Now my only dilemma is what to make first. I have about 15 gift boxes I need to fill full of goodies by tomorrow night.
Now back to kitchen I must go!!
This week’s 52F theme was “Motion Blur,” I decided to make my KitchenAid Classic the subject for the week. I used gaffers tape to attach fairy lights to the mixer’s paddle. After securing the paddle, I turned on the mixer and took photos. I set my camera for 15-second exposures and used a blue-gelled torch to light sculpt the rest of the mixer. Additionally, I employed a snooted speedlite set to second curtain sync to illuminate the top of the paddle, creating a streak from the movement of the head. The fairy lights on the running mixer produced a captivating spiral graph effect.

Pretty purl ease. That is
All.
This week’s 52F theme was “Motion Blur.” I decorated my KitchenAid mixer with fairy lights and took long-exposure shots while it was running. I also experimented with light sculpting around the mixer during the exposure. Although I achieved good results, I found that photographing the mixer from the side was more visually interesting than shooting it head-on.

Block # 20 Yay! I just reached the halfway mark :)
This one represents my love of cooking and while I don't actually have a shiny red KitchenAid, since my old Kenwood blew up I've asked the Universe very nicely and she said she'll see what she can do...
A friend asked me to make this for her as she received a mixer for Christmas. I used this free pattern sewing.about.com/library/weekly/aa011801b.htm
I added a little pull tab/loop at the top of the cover, lined the cover, and added side pockets to fit the attachments. I also added an extra, extra wide bias tape strip at the bottom in order to make it an inch longer. I would definitely add another inch or two to the length of the cover if I were to make it again.
Patterned fabric is from the Robert Kaufman Metro Cafe collection.
Maybe I need to make one for my own mixer!
