I was fortunate to meet up with my old friend Kit and her husband two evenings after San Diego Comic-Con had closed for the night. These are from our second meetup.
I first shot with Kit when she was 17.The last was in 2017, the last time I got a ticket to SDCC. It was a pleasure to see her again!

US Army Veteran Carson “Kit” Klinetob would like to wish all of his friends in Antigo, Wisconsin, including Reverend Wes, the Antigo Faith United Church of Christ Congregation and all of the local Antigo businesses a Very Merry Christmas! Klinetob, originally from Milton, Pennsylvania, moved with his wife Edna Mae “Eddie” Klinetob to Antigo, Wisconsin, in 1970 where he developed and opened Physical Therapy departments in Antigo and Tomahawk and worked for many years as a Physical Therapist in the area. He and his wife, Eddie, raised two daughters, Sandra who resides in Clintonville, Wisconsin, and Diane who resides in Austin, Texas, and he is the proud grandfather of three grandchildren. Klinetob moved from Antigo to the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King in October 2015. Klinetob, a WWII Veteran who served in the European Theater of Operations in France and Germany received the Purple Heart, Three Bronze Battle Stars and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, among other military decorations. He was injured by artillery fire while fighting in the European Theater as part of the 100th Infantry Division during battle in the Vosgues Mountains. Klinetob and the infantrymen he served with in the 100th Infantry Division provided an impressive defense in Bitche, France, during the Battle of the Bulge and these men became known as the historical “Sons of Bitche”. Klinetob is a lifetime member of VFW Post 2653 in Antigo, WI, the American Legion Post in Milton, PA, and the Wisconsin Disabled American Veterans, among other military organizations.

Cortei uma tira e fiz a barra e depois cortei coraçoes em tecidos que va bene com os colores da estampa da tira. O coraçao maior, em poas rozinha e o outro pequeno, amarelhinho bem claro tb de poas pequenino.

We are teaching two robot classes this fall, to help students create their own artistic robots. These classes are taking place at the Lycée Français in Sausalito (for 4th & 5th graders), and at Tam High School in Mill Valley (for adults and teens). During those classes, students learn how to build a robot from scratch, then make them move in a variety of ways, using a programmable Arduino board.
This photo set is about the custom robot kit we created for these classes at Tam Makers, our community makerspace. It includes a laser-cut chassis with motors and wheels, an Arduino Feather M0 with assorted electronics, an Arduino-powered remote control, as well as body parts and servo motors to make them move.
Our robot kit is similar to commercial products, but with a lot more features, at a lower cost. It was a lot of work, but we’re very happy with the final results, and our students seemed to really enjoy the class. We hope this will encourage other teachers, students and makers to create their own animated characters, for art and technology’s sake.
