Nicola Billy il giovane (incis.) - Carlo Ascensi (invent.), David che suona l'arpa confortato dalla Fede (stampa - bulino - 1756)
Detail of King David window in Ely cathedral. Victorian glass by John Hardman of Birmingham (John Hardman & Co)
King David, seated on the left, plays some kind of violin that is resting on his lap rather than on his shoulder. To his side two of his four musicians play, respectively, the harp-psaltery and the drum. Early 12th century capital, originally from the Monastery of La Daurade ( no longer in existence) and now in the Musée des Augustins, Toulouse.
