Keolis/MBTA train 1407 outbound from North Station to Wachusett accelerates away from its station stop westbound on Main 1 of CSXT's ex Pan Am Southern Freight Main. This is about MP 316.5 (measured from Waterville) and also 36.5 as measured from Boston via the Keolis Fitchburg Route mainline. GP40MC 1134 leads a six car set of mixed Kawasaki and Bombardier equipment.

Outbound Keolis/MBTA train 1915 from South Station pulls into the new station in Fall River at MP FS 10.9 on the Fall River Secondary after a 1 hr 35 min trip south led by F40PH-3C 1035. The grand 1891 buit Old Colony station designed by Bradford Lee Gilbert once stood on the east side of the tracks here with a gorgeous park fronting on North Main Street. Alas it was demolished not long after the end of passenger service and the land where it once stood is now a parking lot and small strip mall.
This rail route into the city of Fall River opened in 1846 and saw continuous passenger service under the auspices of the Fall River Railroad and then the Old Colony system until the latter was folded into the New Haven Railroad in 1893. The NH continued daily service to Boston until September 1958 when all passenger service ended to south of Middleboro including to the famed whaling port of New Bedford. In June of 1959 Middleboro lost service along with the other former Old Colony branches to Plymouth and Greenbush. Commuter service returned to Middleboro and Plymouth in 1997 and Geeenbush a decade later but the extension south had to wait until now.

Protos 5033 van Keolis is onderweg van Amersfoort naar Roosendaal voor een grote onderhoudsbeurt en voor het afdraaien van de wielen, Aangezien het treinstel in Tilburg zo'n 20 minuten aan de kant moest werd er besloten hier even een foto te gaan maken.

Vanwege de complete revisie van hun huidige treinen huurt Keolis gedurende twee jaar een Plan V. Op 3 mei werden testritten met reizigers gereden in voorbereiding op de planmatige inzet in de ochtendspits vanaf 6 mei.
De allereerste Plan V in reizigersdienst sinds 9 jaar passeert de fotograaf hier bij Terschuur.

Due to the complete overhaul of their current fleet of trains, Keolis rents a Plan V set for two years. On the 3th of May trial runs were made with passengers, preparing for the planned morning peak services as of the 6th of May.

Op maandag 20-10-2025 reed Keolis Mat'64 treinstel 904 namens de Stichting 2454 CREW een rondritje door Nederland. Het Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht Maliebaan werd ook twee keer aangedaan en zo werd er dan ook snel besloten op deze typerende spoorlijn het treinstel vast te leggen. Helaas klaarde het weer niet zo snel op als dat buienradar voorspeld had dus werd het een beetje improviseren om het treinstel op een zo licht mogelijk stukje op de gevoelige plaat vast te leggen. Op de foto zien we treinstel 904 op de Maliebaanlijn onderweg naar Uitgeest als trein 82602.
Deze had ik nog helemaal niet online gezet, dus bij deze alsnog:
Op de lekker zonnige 7 november 2017 bracht de 303002 van Strukton weer twee nieuwe Keolis Flirt stellen naar Amersfoort. Helaas weet ik niet welke stellen dit waren. We zien het transport hier als trein 41781 in de lunchpauze bij Harselaar passeren.
Op 6 augustus reed Keolis 904 een proefrit Amersfoort - Zutphen v.v. en nadert als trein 82606 bij Stroe, richting Amersfoort.
Outbound Keolis/MBTA train 073 from South Station to Greenbush is leaving the city of Boston and entering Quincy as they cross the Neponset River on Main 1 at MP 5 on the modern day Middleboro Mainline.
This route traces its history back to November 10, 1845 when the Old Colony Railroad ran its first train from South Boston 36.8 miles to Plymouth. As the 19th century progressed the company expanded through acquisitions (including even the Boston and Providence Railroad which was one of the nation's first railroads and survives today as an integral part of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor) and construction into a more than 600 mile long system by 1893 when it was leased to the New Haven Railroad for 999 years.
Into the 20th century the original Old Colony Routes fortunes ebbbed and flowed but by the 1930s the ancestral suburban passenger service was an albatross around the neck of the NH. Finally in June 1959 passenger service from Boston to south shore points on this route came to an end and within months the NH's double track (once four track!) drawbridge burned here under mysterious circumstances. Freight business to Braintree, Quincy and other points along the former OC thereafter was served from the south via Attleboro, Taunton, and Middleboro.
In 1971 the MBTA's Red Line was extended to Quincy using the abandoned OC RofW and a new bridge (the one on the right was built for the transit line). Finally more than 38 years after the New Haven ran its last passenger train the new Old Colony came back to life when the MBTA began service to Middleboro and Plymouth (with the route to Greenbush coming a decade later). The biggest engineering project on the entirety of the rebuilt route was this new Neponset River bridge. Rather than a draw span a new double track structure was buit parallel to and with the same profile and clearance as the Red Line bridge. Since no freight trains travel this route the grades on each approach are 3% to provide 40 ft of clearance over mean high tide. The bridge is of ballasted thru girder design and is 1190 ft in length. Doordat de kuilwielenbank in Eindhoven niet beschikbaar was, brachten op 3 Juni 2019 de Keolis linten 44 en 45 een bezoek aan de kuilwielenbank in Onnen. Na gedane werkzaamheden vertrokken de 2 stellen weer richting Zwolle, en uiteindelijk Hengelo. Op de foto passeren de 44 + 45 de fotograaf ter hoogte van Diepenveen als deze onderweg zijn onder nummer 59657 vanuit Zwolle richting Hengelo.
Keolis Stone Extra 1026 is seen heading north on the former B&M Eastern Route at Beverly Draw. This train was the first train over the new drawbridge which was replaced in August 2017.
Op 31 december bleek de Crew2454 904, die tijdelijk bij Keolis rijdt in de ochtendspits, de hele dag te blijven rijden tussen Amersfoort en Barneveld Zuid. Goede reden dus om dit stel op station Hoevelaken vast te leggen.
Mentre il sole si abbassa sempre di più sulla linea dell’orizzonte, una doppia composizione di FLIRT del Blauwnet Keolis opera tra Enschede e Zwolle. Nell’aperta campagna tra Hengelo e Borne si trova una posizione ideale per immortalarli.
Während die Sonne immer tiefer am Horizont versinkt, verkehrt eine Doppelkomposition von FLIRTs von Blauwnet Keolis von Enschede nach Zwolle. Die offene Landschaft zwischen Hengelo und Borne ist ein ideale Stelle, um sie zu verewigen.
Sinds 10 December 2017 heeft Keolis het vervoer overgenomen van NS op de lijnen van Zwolle naar Enschede/Kampen. Alweer een jaar naar dato staat de Keolis 7304 op 12 December 2018 op het station van Nijverdal te wachten om als sprinter 7974 te vertrekken richting Zwolle.
Tra Enschede e Zwolle, passando per le cittadine di Hengelo e Almelo, il traffico regionale è affidato a Keolis. Con una flotta di FLIRT 3 a 3 e 4 carrozze di recente costruzione vengono effettuati treni in cadenza anche di 15 minuti nelle fasce della giornata più movimentate. Una doppia trazione è fotografata subito dopo aver lasciato Hengelo alla volta di Zwolle.
Zwischen Enschede und Zwolle, über die Städte Hengelo und Almelo, wird der Regionalverkehr von Keolis abgewickelt. Mit einer Flotte von neu gebauten 3- und 4-teiligen FLIRTs werden die Züge in den Stosszeiten im 15-Minuten-Takt eingesetzt. Eine Doppeltraktion wird unmittelbar nach der Abfahrt von Hengelo in Richtung Zwolle fotografiert.
Op Dinsdag 05-11-2024 werd de inmiddels al ruim 7 maanden defect terzijde staande Protos 5034 van Keolis overgebracht van Amersfoort naar de werkplaats van Brouwer in Roosendaal. Daar is het treinstel hersteld en exact een week later keerde de 5034 op eigen kracht terug naar Amersfoort waar hij inmiddels weer in dienst gesteld is. Protos 5035 sleepte het treinstel die kant op en mocht daar gelijk ook een nachtje overblijven om een setje assen te wisselen. De twee markante treinstellen staan een paar minuten aan de kant op station Tilburg om een andere trein voor te laten gaan. Daarna werd er in een keer door gereden naar Roosendaal waar beide stellen met behulp van Strukton 706 in de loods geplaatst zijn.
Syntus heeft bekend gemaakt dat de lijn Oldenzaal-Zutphen ook onder het Blauwnet gaat vallen. Dit gaat ervoor zorgen dat alle regionale vervoerders hetzelfde uiterlijk op de treinen hebben en dat er minder omchecken is door gezamelijke poortjes/palen voor de OV-chipkaart.
Ook de LINT-41 treinstellen van Syntus Twente worden in de blauwe kleur omgestickerd, wat er helaas voor zorgt dat het karakteristieke Twentse ros van de treinen verdwijnt. Daarom was ik nog even een avondfoto gaan maken, nu dat weer vroeg in de avond mogelijk is.

Sinds mijn laatste bezoek aan Barneveld en omgeving in april 2023 is de treindienst op de Valleilijn, Amersfoort - Ede vice-versa, op 10 december 2023 overgegaan van Connexxion naar Keolis en valt de treindienst onder de merknaam RRReis.
Keolis heeft alle treinstellen van Connexxion overgenomen en zo rijden oa. de Protos EMU's nog gewoon hun ritjes. Het enige wat zichtbaar veranderd is, is de tekst op de stellen : eerst stond er aleen Valleilijn op, nu staat er "Valleilijn wordt RRReis" gevolgd door RRReis.nl.
Keolis Protos EMU 5031 "Henk Lambooij" komt langs Terschuur op de weg naar Hoevelaken rijdend Barneveld-Zuid - Amersfoort als trein 31436.

Since my last visit to Barneveld and the surrounding area in April 2023, the train service on the Valleilijn, Amersfoort - Ede vice-versa, was transferred from Connexxion to Keolis on December 10, 2023 and the train service now resides under the brand name RRReis - in English TTTravel ;-)
Keolis has taken over all Connexxion train sets and so the Protos EMUs still have their rides. The only thing what's visibly changed is the text on the EMU's : first it only said Valleilijn, now it says "Valleilijn will become Rrreis", followed by RRReis.nl.

Keolis Extra 2622 heads east over the Wachusett Reservoir with GP18 904 bringing up the rear of the train.
