The Kennedy Center is lit up in rainbow colors in advance of the Kennedy Center Honors.
These lifetime awards celebrate great artists in a variety of media. This year's honorees are:
Operatic bass-baritone Justino Díaz, Motown founder
Songwriter, producer, and director Berry Gordy
Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels
Legendary stage and screen icon Bette Midler
Singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.
Wo sonst um diese Zeit ein großer bildschöner Weihnachtsmarkt steht, der weit über die Stadtgrenzen hinaus bekannt und beliebt ist, hat die Stadt Essen nichts unversucht gelassen, doch in dieser Corona-Zeit ein weihnachtliches Gefühl aufkommen zu lassen.

CN Freight L580 is about to leave the Mackenzie Sub and swing south onto the Chetwynd Sub at Kennedy British Columbia. Both Subdivisions were constructed by the then provincially owned British Columbia Railway, and thankfully still see a good amount of traffic under CN ownership

Early morning light on the Kennedy Ranges in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia. This National Park was one of the highlights of our trip west. Beautiful gorges, good bush walks and stunning scenery. All without the crowds. A must if over this way.

The Kennedy Cupcakes are a 1940/50s inspired dance troupe. Happily posing for a spontaneous few portrait shots as I wandered by in George Square. Enjoy.
I've been to these falls a great many times - it's local and the trail to it runs through a cedar strewn rainforest. I was glad to catch it this time after a couple of days or summer rain, and especially glad to discover new compositions that I had somehow missed in earlier visits.
SRY 385, an SD35, leads the Valley turn up SRY’s Kennedy Hill which lifts the SRY out of the Fraser River up to Surrey and beyond in the early morning of December 30th, 2024. Usually this job doesn’t have much tonnage going up the hill, but this day they had a sizable train. Combine that with wet rail and the engineer has all 3 motors in run 8, waking up the surrounding neighborhoods.
Approaching the top of the Kennedy hill, SRY 384 brings a 5 car valley job over the Scott Road crossing in the early morning hours.
This old building has been a jail and the city hall in the small town of Kennedy, Alabama. Now it is just a relic of the past

I like this 'grafitti,' so much more colourful than a plain roller shutter. I hope this place opens up again when the lockdown ends.
