The temple was completely gutted by Katrina. Volunteers have restored it to a useable state and continue to improve it. The building was in the works for more than a decade and only dedicated two days before Katrina struck.
Katrina, of Katrina & The Waves and "Walking On Sunshine" ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUmE-tne5U ) fame was performing at People's Day 2010.

Unfortunately Katrina is taking great interest in the birds.... it is very hard to make these indoor cats but maybe we will have to.
Katrina is Rene's daughter and the smallest of the litter. Nearsighted but the softest-furred kitty ever. Very sweet and a little bit timid.

This mailbox is in a neighborhood in D'iberville, MS. The neighborhood was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The mailbox is full of sand and the flag is up as if to notify the postal worker to pick up the outgoing mail.
This is an aerial photograph of my neighborhood and the kids' school that was taken on Sept. 8th. There's a lot of debris in the yard around where my garden is (or was?).
