Karlsruhe Palace (German: Karlsruher Schloss) was erected in 1715 by Margrave Charles III William of Baden-Durlach, after a dispute with the citizens of his previous capital, Durlach. The city of Karlsruhe has since grown around it.
This shot taken from about half way down the Schlossplatz.
.. is the elegant home of the Badisches Landesmuseum with frequent fantastic exhibitions like the one about Mykene we visited today .. btw .. adjacent to the right wing is the main campus of my alma mater the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT .. the oldest University for Engineering in Germany .. think about Carl Benz the inventor of the automobile and Heinrich Hertz who proved the concept of electro-magnetic waves .. happy Sunday!

Longtime exposure and a lot of work in Photoshop made people disappear. It was the first warm spring evening of the year and many people sat on the grass for a long long time...
A XVIII. századi város központja a Kastély volt, melynek első része von Batzendorf tervei alapján készült el 1715-19 között. Harminc évvel később átépítés és bővítés következett egészen 1781-ig, lényegében Balthazar Neumann tervei szerint. A kastély trapéz formájú díszudvart fog közre. A kastély ma a Tartományi Múzeum (Landesmuseum) otthona.
