Okay, okay, so because it's winter and I'm tired of racing light and dealing with the cold everyday I've created my own 'studio' in the basement. It pretty much consists of a white sheet and table lamps...but it works! And I'll probably post a few pictures later of my awesome setup along with a close up of my paint job last night XD
Paint is fun. It really, really is. Although my eyebrows were green when I woke up which I actually found slightly hysterical...

I awoke at stupid o'clock this morning to the realisation that (a) it was still dark, (b) there appeared to be a hurricane going on outside the window, and (c) that it was time to get up for work. Bugger - don't you just hate it when that happens?
Anyway, after the usual 'first day back' was out of the way I spent a most enjoyable evening with Neil, who stopped by on his way home from Scotland for a cup of peppermint tea. There's always something good about meeting up with a fellow photographer, especially when they too have a D700 - and some funky lenses for me to play with :D

Although the burgers are actually tasty for a big chain, I was actually put off by the cooks and kitchen elves conversing incessantly at deafening levels. Maybe, this place is not entirely suitable for anyone who's more than half a century old. #justsaying #grumpygit

If I was a smart gal I would keep plugging away, almost at the finish line of yet another crazy week. So many projects but I got through them... and if I work like crazy (and not flickr) today, I could perhaps take a 3 or 4-day weekend, depending on what writing emergencies come up. And, Lord knows I could use a long weekend!
So if you don't see me around too much today, I will be by asap! Promise!

Really... I was told that taking pictures of birds is "gay"... "super-gay" actually. Really. I swear I am not kidding. (And I mean absolutely no offense to anyone.) I am only saying what I was told. And this was by a fellow photog!
Hmmm. I know shooting birds is the very hardest thing I have ever done with a camera. Learning to shoot birds made every other photography thing easy.

Never mind birds are just absolutely amazing. They can fly the fuck out of here at will. Birds are very, very cool. Shooting birds is seriously cool. Its as rewarding as it is challenging. Just search my stream for "jay". You all remember my friend Jay? (Here's a little Jay series) He was my first RAW subject. I loved our sessions together. And how he would buzz my window if I missed a day, or a chance to shoot him. Yeah, birds rock! Shooting birds rocks!
I think I found Doc over here in Salem. Rumor has it that he's been missing awhile from flickr.
I know he's back now but this was him just a few days before returning. Seems he had a very bad eye infection which then spread into his jaw and on into his teeth. Now that he's on his med's again he should be much better in a few days.
Those teeth look awefully familiar though. I think I saw them on his stream just the other night. Something about a quick look at a dead animal. Just saw teeth and had to scroll to the comment box real fast. The teeth did look a bit like these though.
Hey Doc, give the poor dead "whatever" his teeth back so he can be buried with a bit of dignity.
