I heard an unfamiliar bird call today, and was surprised to find a Juniper Titmouse, Baeolophus ridgwayi, sitting on a branch about twenty feet away. At Garden of the Gods Park.

I swear it grew another inch.

since I cleared around its base I gave it some water and told how beautiful its looking .

and this one is facing my better neigbor .

It took awhile to find the right pup to add to our family, and here she is.

Juniper's a rescue. 10 weeks. A Beagle/Basset Hound mix. Downright adorable.

Fortunately, a rescue in Vacaville picked her up from a high-kill shelter just in time, along with 3 siblings and her mama.

The wire truss .

Removal of most the base roots required some bracing.

Attempting to push new roots to grow using wire twisted onto the trunk below the soils surface which in time will be the Bonsai new roots and further removal of the original root system . I'm thinking tree on rock in a real Bonsai pot will look really nice .

Photos do not do her pacoloring justice, she was a beautiful tortoise shell cat.

Juniper Lake is my absolute favorite spot in Lassen National Park. The lake was particularly low this year, but the gorgeous sky definitely made up for it!
